The Treehouse is a proposed arboreal structure for recreation and wildlife-viewing. The site is an old wolf tree just a short walk from the base camp at Yale Myers. The Treehouse would serve both the F&ES community and the Yale community at large, providing a unique perspective on the forest: a place to observe the natural processes at work and rediscover the joy of being in nature. Nestled in the
arms of an old sugar maple, The Treehouse would lean out over a slope that runs down to a small winding brook. From this perch, the structure would provide both a panorama of the surrounding woodland and an uncommon view into the upper canopy of the forest. The Treehouse would be a simple structure, designed to have a minimal impact on the tree and its surrounding environment. Simply put, the intent of The Treehouse is to hold the human body in a unique relationship with nature, enabling, rather than disrupting, a connection with the natural environment.
