Commencement may be over, but the celebrations continued as welcomed alumni back to campus for reunion weekends.

Members of the Yale Public Safety team, including police and security officers, were on hand throughout the weekend events to help ensure a safe and welcoming experience for returning alums.

If you returned to New Haven, we hope you enjoyed reconnecting with classmates and revisiting your old stomping grounds!

Remembering Yale Police Officer Greg Swiantek and his legacy of kindness — today and always.

His name has been added to the Connecticut Law Enforcement Memorial in Meriden, where a statewide service today honored him and other fallen officers.

As YPD Acting Assistant Chief John Healy said:

“If you ask the people who knew Greg best about what defined him, they will tell you it was his heart. They would tell you about his humor, his loyalty, his love of music, and above all, his love for his daughter, Remy.”

Public safety planning for Commencement takes a village — staff, neighboring agencies, and volunteers working behind the scenes to help keep everyone safe. Thanks to all who played a part 🎓

Shout-out to these incredible volunteers: members of our Emergency Operations Team. They step away from their regular roles across Yale — from Printing & Publishing Services to Internal Communications to Housing — to look out for medical concerns and be ready to help all day long.
