Stop by New England Brewing Co. tonight, Thursday Sept 3 in Woodbridge to support Team Tommy Fund in the fight for pediatric cancer with the Closer to Free Ride and Smilow Cancer Hospital 🎗️

Leadership, faculty, and guests from Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale New Haven Health were among the many to proudly introduce the Connecticut Proton Center in Wallingford, Connecticut.

Proton therapy is critical in cancer care as the beam of proton particles has the ability to stop tumors while reducing damage to nearby healthy tissue and is especially invaluable when treating children.

“Many patients with cancer and their families have had to travel to Boston or New York for this therapy,” Dr. Peter Glazer said. “Now they will be able to get treated close to home at a state-of-the-art facility.”

“This therapy is perhaps more important to guarantee the success of treatment and the long-term freedom from side effects that often happen for children with cancer,” said Dr. Eric Winer.
