RECOGNIZING OUTSTANDING SERVICE
During a recent Crystal City Council meeting, Police Chief Brian Hubbard congratulated Officer Andrew Robles on achieving his longtime goal of becoming a K-9 handler and welcomed Yeti to the Crystal Police Department family.
Yeti is a 2-year-old German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix trained in patrol work—including tracking and apprehension—as well as narcotics detection. Since beginning patrol in May, Yeti has already helped locate evidence and made several narcotics finds.
Chief Hubbard also presented Investigator Tim Tourville with a Chief’s Award of Commendation for his dedication to a complex, multi-agency investigation related to the FBI’s “Ruby Red Slippers” case. Tourville worked closely with the FBI for several months, following leads and ensuring a victim in the case was not overlooked. His persistence ultimately helped bring the case to a resolution and provided closure for the victim.
Deputy Chief Pete Underthun also received a Chief’s Award of Commendation for his exceptional leadership during a June 2025 attack in Brooklyn Park. At the request of Brooklyn Park Police, Underthun led a four-square-mile area search involving five SWAT teams and numerous law enforcement personnel. His calm and strategic leadership helped ensure the complex operation was conducted safely and thoroughly.
