The employees and families of the West Metro Fire-Rescue District are proud to present the 12th Annual “Firefighters Fighting Hunger” food-drive!

The West Metro Fire-Rescue District employees in partnership with our Auxiliary, Explorers and families will be fighting hunger in our communities on Saturday, March 18th from 11:00am to 3:00pm. We will be collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations to benefit The Food Group (formerly the Emergency Foodshelf Network). Please visit your local grocery store, pick up some food items to contribute or simply make a cash donation to the fire boot; we will have Fire Department vehicles at collection points at grocery store parking lots in the area we serve (we will be at the Crystal Cub at 36th Ave & Hwy 100; Aldi in Crystal; Almsteds Fresh Market in Crystal; HyVee in New Hope & the Cub in Plymouth at 42nd Ave & Hwy 169). We hope you can join us in this fight!

In every community across America, when you need help all you need to do is call 911 and your local firefighters will come to your aid. This time we are sounding the alarm and asking for your help – please come out and join us as we Fight Hunger in our Community!

The Minnesota Fallen Firefighters Memorial Association & West Metro Fire-Rescue District are honored to present a Funeral Operations Class at Camp Ripley MN on Friday, March 24th. This training is designed for department leadership or those responsible for handling the departments operations in the case of department related death. You may pay by check or with a credit card.

The Minnesota Fallen Firefighters Memorial Association & West Metro Fire-Rescue District are proud to present the Honor Guard Clinic at Camp Ripley MN the weekend of March 24-26. All are welcome to attend regardless of experience level you will learn something at this clinic. You will not find better training and the price is terrific. You may pay by check or with a credit card.

Be a Santa to a Senior is back for 2021!!!

West Metro Fire-Rescue District is very happy to announce that the "Be a Santa to a Senior" Program is back for 2021!!!

We have a tree set up in the entry of West Metro Station 3 / HQ at 4251 Xylon Ave N in New Hope (across from HyVee) + another at the Starbucks in Crystal, 5596 West Broadway at the intersection of Bass Lake Road & West Broadway.

If you would like to participate, please stop by one of these locations and pick up an "ornament" (gift list) from the tree, go shopping for the items listed on the ornament and return the gifts to either location in a gift bag with the ornament secured to the outside of the bag.

We look forward to this being our most successful year ever in this program!

West Metro Food Drive - POSTPONED - But you can still Donate!

For the safety of our firefighters, their families and the community we have decided to POSTPONE the annual West Metro "Firefighters Fighting Hunger" Food Drive on Saturday the 21st.

We will still put the collection barrels out at the store exits for those that can make a food donation while shopping Saturday. We just wont have our firefighters and families out there.

We will reschedule our Food Drive at the stores once this pandemic has passed; we believe the need will be greater than ever as we go through this.
