On the third day of , Iberia Parish gave to me… !

4-H gives students an opportunity to learn mastery in a project area of their choice, and here are just a few big wins from our own Iberia Parish 4-H’ers last year!

1) Colton from JIRES won best in show for his exhibition birds at LSU AgCenter State Livestock Show
2) Hollie, a member-at-large, won an overall award for the fastest time in barrel racing at the Louisiana State Horse Show
3) Our 4-H University Delegation delivered multiple top ten awards, including a first place team for consumer food evaluation that included Hunter and Emily, 4-H Alumni, and Xander from HOTT

What are some of YOUR winning 4-H moments? 🍀

On the second day of my parish gave to me.... Thankful Tuesday!

We are thankful for all of our club leaders and volunteers, and of course to all of our students. To show our thanks, we want to send out a special invitation to any students interested in showing off their leadership skills through being a club officer! All students are invited to attend this fun night, whether they hold an office or not. And while students are learning how to be leaders, there will be a session about getting involved as a new volunteer for parents to attend as well!

Officer training will be led by some of our best youth volunteers, our junior leaders! It will be held starting at 5:30 at North Lewis Elementary School.

Thank you to everyone who continues to make Iberia 4-H an amazing place!

Happy National 4-H week! This year's theme, "I ❤️ 4-H" reminds us not only that 4-H is the largest youth development organization in the country, but it is also a feeling of belonging and mastery felt by any youth who have an experience as a member.

We are starting off the week strong with by reintroducing you to our Iberia Parish 4-H Agents, Ms. Patrice (right) and Ms. Lexie (left)!

Ms. Patrice is a New Iberia native and graduated with a degree in psychology from Northwestern State University. She leads the parish large livestock and shooting sports programs, as well as overseeing the parish cooking clubs. Patrice has been a 4-H Agent for 5 years, and her favorite 4-H activity is attending shooting sports practices and matches.

Ms. Lexie is from Lafayette originally, but her mother grew up in New Iberia. She graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Natural Resource Ecology and Management. As a 4-H agent who just finished her first year, Ms. Lexie works with rabbits, poultry, and horses and maintains social media posts. Her favorite 4-H activity is sewing, and she is excited to start working with the sewing club.

There has been some confusion about paying 4-H Enrollment dues. When enrolling on 4-H Online, the system will give a prompt to pay a $12 check to Iberia Parish 4-H but that is not correct. School club leaders will set their club dues, and you will pay them the requested dues by their set deadlines, along with any forms necessary.

We are not accepting payment for enrollment at the 4-H Office from individual members at this time. If you are registering as a Member-at-Large, please email us for more information about how to complete registration!
