The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office command staff, lieutenants, and sergeants welcomed Robyn Paris with Oceans Behavioral Hospital and Bertrand Brown with Woodlake Addiction Recovery Center to our Patrol Staff Meeting to discuss a growing partnership that has the potential to make a meaningful impact throughout Iberia Parish.

Mental health and substance abuse challenges affect families in every corner of our community. By working alongside organizations such as Oceans Behavioral Hospital and Woodlake Addiction Recovery Center, our deputies are gaining greater awareness of available resources and strengthening relationships with professionals who can help connect individuals and families to the support they need.

These partnerships provide more than just services, they create pathways to hope, recovery, and long-term support for citizens facing some of life’s most difficult challenges. Whether it is assistance for someone struggling with addiction, access to mental health treatment, support for a family in crisis, or education that helps prevent future issues, these collaborations expand the network of care available in Iberia Parish.

The partnership also includes wellness resources and therapy services for our employees, as well as specialized training opportunities designed to help deputies navigate the unique challenges of law enforcement. Upcoming training sessions will focus on topics such as mental health, anxiety, PTSD, su***de awareness, substance abuse, and mental health in the workplace.

The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office recognizes that public safety extends beyond enforcement. It includes helping connect people with the resources they need during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. We are grateful to Robyn Paris and Bertrand Brown for sharing their knowledge and for their commitment to supporting both our agency and the citizens of Iberia Parish.

When agencies come together with a shared mission, lives can be changed, families can find support, and communities can become stronger. This partnership is another step toward that goal for the citizens of Iberia Parish.

Understanding the S*x Offender Registry Process

The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office is aware of information currently circulating on social media regarding registered s*x offenders and the status listed beside their names on public registry websites.

We would like to provide some clarification to help the public better understand how the s*x offender registration system works.
A designation of “Non-Compliant” on a registry website does not automatically mean that an offender’s whereabouts are unknown, that the offender is missing, or that law enforcement is not actively monitoring that individual.

The term “Non-Compliant” can apply to a variety of circumstances, including:
• Failure to complete required paperwork
• Failure to pay a registration fee
• Failure to meet a reporting requirement
• Other registration-related violations
• Administrative issues that require updates within the system

It is also important to understand that while some offenders listed as non-compliant may have active warrants, not every non-compliant status indicates that an offender is absconding or that law enforcement does not know their location.

Additionally, the registry information displayed online is managed through a third-party system and may reflect some status designations that are not directly controlled by the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office. The information displayed is often more complex than a single status label may suggest.
When an offender is determined to be out of compliance, deputies assigned to s*x offender registration investigate the circumstances and take appropriate enforcement action when warranted. Depending on the violation, this may include conducting compliance checks, obtaining warrants, pursuing criminal charges, or working to bring the offender back into compliance with state registration requirements.

Protecting our parish remains a top priority. The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office maintains an active s*x offender registration and compliance program and works diligently to ensure offenders comply with Louisiana law.

We understand the concerns of our citizens and encourage everyone to seek information from reliable sources and to contact our office if they have questions regarding the s*x offender registration process. Public safety is best served when information is accurate, complete, and properly understood.

For questions regarding s*x offender registration, compliance, or information displayed on the registry, please contact the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office S*x Offender Registry Division at (337) 321-4548.

⭐️⭐️ Employee Spotlight ⭐️⭐️

Meet Communications Officer Lisa Gautreaux, a dedicated member of the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office Communications Division. Lisa has been serving in Communications for the past two years, but her history with IPSO goes back much further. More than a decade ago, when 911 and IPSO Communications were still combined on Main Street, Lisa worked as a dispatcher for nearly two years before pursuing other opportunities.

After years away, returning to IPSO felt like coming home.

Lisa says one of the things she loves most about working at IPSO is the family atmosphere, especially among the members of the 300 Shift. She values the teamwork, support, and camaraderie that comes with working alongside people who genuinely care about one another. Whether it’s sharing a laugh during a busy shift or helping each other through difficult calls, Lisa says the bond within Communications makes IPSO feel like her home away from home.

Throughout her career, Lisa has worn many hats, including dispatcher, automobile assembler, and over-the-road truck driver. However, she believes she has found her calling in Communications. She takes pride in being the first first responder, helping callers during some of their most difficult moments while ensuring deputies and first responders receive the information they need to safely and effectively handle each situation. She finds purpose in knowing that what she does truly makes a difference for both the community and those responding to calls for service.

Outside of work, Lisa is married to her very best friend, and this year they celebrate ten years of marriage. Together they have a sweet and spirited two-year-old daughter who keeps life exciting. Lisa loves spending time with her family, traveling, and making memories together. Recently, she and her family took their daughter on her first cruise and enjoyed watching her experience the world in a whole new way. Before becoming parents, Lisa and her husband traveled extensively while driving trucks over the road, visiting 46 of the continental United States. A proud Loreauville native, she returned home three years ago and enjoys baking and trying new recipes. Her coworkers are occasionally lucky enough to enjoy her homemade bread pudding during a shift.

From her Supervisor:

“I’ve known Lisa for several years, and one of the things I admire most about her is her spirit and willingness to help others in times of need. She is a true team player who genuinely loves her job. I watched her when she first started years ago, and when I learned she was returning to IPSO, I knew she would be a tremendous asset to Communications. Seeing her now as a wife and mother has been special, and it warms my heart knowing she gets to experience the joys of motherhood while continuing to be such an important part of our team.”

The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office is proud to recognize Lisa Gautreaux for her dedication, compassion, professionalism, and commitment to serving both her coworkers and the citizens of Iberia Pari
