🚂 Full STEAM ahead this summer at the New Ipswich Library 🚂

School will be out in just a few days, but that doesn't mean the learning has to stop!

Thanks to a generous grant from the New Ipswich Library will be offering free STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) activities throughout the summer.

Beginning on July 1st and running Wednesdays at 3:00 PM, we'll be exploring, creating, building, experimenting, and having fun while learning along the way.

These programs are made possible through grant funding from MilliporeSigma and are not included in our operating budget. We received the grant last year in anticipation of bringing these programs to our community, despite any budget challenges the Library is facing.

Whether you're a future scientist, engineer, artist, inventor, or simply just curious about the world around you, there's something for everyone.

🚨 Some programs will have limited space and are expected to fill quickly. Please keep an eye on our website and social media pages for registration details so you can secure your spot. 🚨

Many of you have been asking how the loss of the town's portion of our operating budget will impact our operations. We will continue to fundraise to limit the cuts we will need to make. Throughout our fiscal year, the Staff and Trustees will work diligently to minimize the impact on our valued community members.

It was a big night for the Class of 2026. During senior awards night I was fortunate to present the scholarship from the library to Olivia A. who will be attending Fitchburg State in the fall for accounting (and becoming our future treasurer and bookkeeper, wink wink).

In addition to the scholarship the library presented awards from an anonymous donor who came forward and offered to give scholarships for the remaining five applicants. I unfortunately was not able to gather all of them for a photo, but I want to congratulate them just the same: Drew A., Emily A., Evelyn H., Matthew O., and Deviny V.

On behalf of all of us at the New Ipswich Library, congratulations, we cannot wait to see what your future holds.
