One of the missions of the New Johnsonville Firefighters Association is to help build a safer, more prepared community through education and training.

With that in mind, the NJFFA is looking at hosting CPR classes, using our NJFD CPR Instructors on a couple Saturdays in September: if there’s enough interest!

We’ll offer:
👶 Infant & Child CPR
🫀 Adult CPR

Whether you need CPR certification for work or simply want the knowledge to help a loved one in an emergency, we’d love to have you.

✅ Need certification? You can be certified through the American Red Cross for the Association’s cost: absolutely no markup.
✅ Just want to learn? Attend the class for FREE with no certification required.

So tell us…

Would you attend a CPR class?

Give us a 👍🏻 if you will attend
Leave us a 🤦🏽‍♀️ if you just aren’t interested in saving a life or just hope someone else knows how to do it when the time comes.

Feel free to comment below with which class you’d be interested in (Adult, Infant/Child, or Both)!
Follow our page for updates on when these classes will be offered, and for other training opportunities!

Well he’s done it again……

The New Johnsonville Fire Department would like to congratulate Fire Chief Dale Allen on earning the prestigious Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Designation through the Center for Public Safety Excellence.

The CFO Designation is one of the fire service’s highest professional credentials and recognizes fire chiefs who demonstrate excellence in leadership, emergency service administration, professional development, community risk reduction, strategic planning, and organizational management.

Obtaining the CFO designation is a rigorous process that requires extensive documentation of a chief’s education, training, experience, accomplishments, and commitment to continuous improvement. Candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive peer review process that evaluates their ability to lead a modern fire department while meeting nationally recognized standards of excellence.

This achievement reflects Chief Allen’s dedication to professional development, service to the community, and commitment to ensuring the New Johnsonville Fire Department remains a progressive, highly trained, and professional organization.

Please join us in congratulating Chief Allen on this outstanding accomplishment and well-deserved recognition.

🚨 ATTENTION (birthday post coming) 🚨

After several reports of black bears in the area, Chief Dale Allen responded personally.

After their encounter, the bear has since left the county and is reportedly reconsidering its life choices.

Unfortunately, witnesses state this particular bear was considerably larger than the ones recently spotted, so Chief is still conducting follow-up investigations.

If you see him today, wish him a Happy Birthday and thank him for his service in both fire suppression and evidently, advanced bear relocation. 🐻

Happy Birthday, Chief! While this is all in good fun, we know how truly lucky we are to have such an outstanding and hardworking Chief that will solve any problem we throw at you! Dale Allen

Mutual Aid in Action 🚒🚤🔥

Today, the New Johnsonville Fire Department’s Marine 1 responded on a mutual aid request from the Humphreys County Fire Department to assist with a brush fire along the shoreline.

When fires occur in areas that are difficult to access by land, Marine 1 provides a critical advantage by delivering a continuous water supply directly from the lake. This allows firefighters to attack the fire from the water, protect nearby property, and support crews operating on shore without the delays of establishing long hose lays or shuttling water.

A fire boat is more than just a specialized piece of equipment. It is a valuable asset that expands our capabilities for firefighting, search and rescue, water emergencies, and mutual aid responses throughout our region. By investing in equipment that serves multiple purposes, NJFD is better prepared to protect both our community and our neighboring departments when they need assistance.

We are proud to stand alongside the Humphreys County Fire Department and our regional partners whenever the call for help comes.

Working together makes all of our communities safer. 🚒🚤💧

The New Johnsonville Fire Department is proud to congratulate Fire Chief Dale Allen on earning the International Code Council (ICC) Fire Inspector II Certification.

This nationally recognized certification demonstrates an advanced level of expertise in fire prevention, fire code enforcement, plan review, inspections, and life safety. Achieving Fire Inspector II requires extensive knowledge of the International Fire Code and the ability to identify and address fire and life safety hazards before they become emergencies.

What does this mean for our community?

It means New Johnsonville continues to invest in proactive fire prevention, not just emergency response. Chief Allen’s certification enhances our department’s ability to:
• Conduct more comprehensive fire and life safety inspections.
• Assist businesses in maintaining safe, code-compliant facilities.
• Help reduce the risk of fires through education and prevention.
• Protect residents, visitors, and first responders by identifying hazards before they lead to tragedy.
• Strengthen our department’s professionalism and commitment to excellence.

At the New Johnsonville Fire Department, we believe the best fire is the one that never happens. By continually pursuing advanced education and nationally recognized certifications, we are committed to providing the highest level of service and safety to the citizens of New Johnsonville.

Please join us in congratulating Fire Chief Dale Allen on this outstanding professional achievement!

Extreme heat is expected across our area this week. High temperatures can quickly become dangerous, especially for children, older adults, those with medical conditions, and anyone working or spending time outdoors.

Take a few simple precautions:
💧 Stay hydrated
❄️ Stay in air-conditioned or shaded areas when possible
☀️ Limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day
👨‍👩‍👧 Check on family, friends, and neighbors
🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes

If you recognize the signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke, move the person to a cooler location, begin cooling measures, and call 911 immediately if symptoms are severe.

Stay safe, New Johnsonville, and help us keep our community healthy during this week’s heat wave.
