This Saturday, August 15th, 2026, the 9th Annual Officer Brian Shaw Memorial Scholarship motorcycle ride will be passing through the City of New Kensington.
The estimated time that the ride will be passing through the City of New Kensington will be somewhere between 1135AM and 12 noon. The route will enter the City of New Kensington onto Leechburg Road (coming from Lower Burrell) and proceed straight onto Freeport Road, continuing on Freeport Road until turning right onto Locust Street. The ride will then proceed down Locust Street, across the viaduct onto 11th Street. The ride will stay on 11th Street passing the New Kensington City Hall building to Industrial Blvd. where the ride will turn left. The ride will stay on Industrial Blvd. until turning right and going across the 9th Street bridge. The ride will turn left off of the 9th Street Bridge and head toward Springdale.
Please be aware that there will be traffic delays during this time and we ask that everyone use caution when driving near the ride route.
For those that are interested, the ride will finish with an event at the Pittsburgh Shrine Center in Cheswick from noon until around 4pm. There will be food, games, entertainment, and plenty of gift baskets. This is a tremendous event for a great cause.

These items can be picked up at the front desk when you enter the Police Department.

I want to THANK everyone who contributed to our canine benefit or even just showed up to say hi to the amazing dogs. Every dollar donated and earned goes directly to the maintenance, training and care for the canines. Our Non-profit is looking to hold another fundraiser closer to the end of the year so be on the look out for updates!!!!

On behalf of the City of New Kensington Police Canine Unit Auxiliary and the Department we were notified of the passing of Lisa Ingle.
A Founding member of AKV Back the Blue for 9 years now, she was so honored and dedicated to the program and absolutely adored canine Atom, you will be missed by many. Our condolences to your family.

The annual New Kensington Canine Unit Fundraiser which takes place from 6-9pm, with music from 6-10pm. Meet the K9s and bid on those famous raffle baskets, all while supporting our unit.

Of course you’ll get to see all the canines, (we already told them to be on there best behavior 🐕🐾🦴🐕) we will have our new 2026 canines shirts available that day which is bringing you an awesome design.

Once again this would not be possible with all the amazing supporters and groups like AKV Back the Blue.
