Larceny from Auto/Shooting into Occupied Dwelling

The New Kent County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a series of larcenies from vehicles and attempted vehicle thefts that occurred in neighborhoods along the Tunstall Road corridor during the overnight hours. The incidents have primarily affected the Kentwood Farms, Greenwood Farms, and Rochambeau subdivisions.

During several of these incidents, victims confronted suspects while they were actively tampering with vehicles. In response, the suspects fired shots in the direction of the victims before fleeing the area. Thankfully, no injuries were reported during these encounters.

As part of this ongoing investigation, a vehicle was stolen from the 8000 block of Airport Road. The stolen vehicle is described as a black 2010 Lincoln MKT SUV displaying no license plates.

Our investigation remains active, and investigators are requesting assistance from residents in the affected areas. If you reside in the Kentwood Farms, Greenwood Farms, or Rochambeau subdivisions and have surveillance footage, doorbell camera video, or any suspicious activity captured during the overnight hours, we ask that you please share that information with our office through the designated evidence submission link https://newkentcounty.evidence.com/axon/community-request/public/tunstall or contact the New Kent County Sheriff’s Office directly at (804) 966-9500.

If anyone has information on suspects from these crimes, please contact Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000 or utilize the P3 cell phone app.

We would also like to remind everyone to take a few simple precautions that can significantly reduce the chances of becoming a victim:

• Always lock your vehicles
• Remove all keys and key fobs from vehicles
• Take valuables inside your residence
• Report suspicious activity immediately

The New Kent County Sheriff’s Office appreciates the community’s assistance and patience as we continue to investigate these incidents and work to identify those responsible.

🇺🇸 CLICK IT OR TICKET – MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND 🇺🇸

This Memorial Day weekend, the New Kent Sheriff’s Office is reminding everyone to buckle up before hitting the road. Whether you’re traveling across the state or just down the street, wearing your seat belt could save your life.

Law enforcement agencies across Virginia are participating in the national Click It or Ticket campaign, which focuses on seat belt enforcement and roadway safety during one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.

🚔 Expect increased patrols and traffic enforcement throughout the holiday weekend.

Seat belts remain one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect yourself and your passengers in a crash. Make sure everyone in your vehicle is properly restrained — every seat, every trip, every time.

✔️ Buckle up
✔️ Drive sober
✔️ Put the phone down
✔️ Slow down and stay alert

Let’s work together to keep Memorial Day weekend safe for everyone traveling through New Kent County.
