Francis Field Youth Foundation

Francis Field Youth Foundation Francis Field Youth Foundation - a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to preserving the Francis Field fairgrounds The field is perfect for community and family use.

The Francis Field Youth Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are a volunteer-run board of directors who helps make the Francis Field fairgrounds available to the Will County community. This 17 acre facility in the heart of Will County Illinois was donated by Fred Francis in the 1950's for the community to use for agricultural exhibition and other community events, particularly 4-H a

ctivities. The facility is still being overseen by an eleven member volunteer board and now is a Will County Historic landmark and in use by many different groups and clubs in New Lenox and the Will County area. The facility and grounds are also available for rental for various events and gatherings. Our goal at Francis Field has always been to keep
this unique historic "green space" preserved for the youth of Will County and their families. We always strive to support not-for-profit groups
and try to make the field house and fairgrounds
available for them whenever possible. Francis Field Youth Foundation takes pride in awarding college scholarships to deserving youth that have had some connection to our unique facility. (go to the 'Event Downloads and Information' page to get more info about eligibility and to download an application.) The agricultural roots of Will County are still alive here at Francis Field. Many horse shows, dog training classes, rabbit shows, and 4-H events are held in the riding arena, barns, and field house. Many clubs also utilize our facility for football, lacrosse, soccer, cheerleading, and dance classes. We have various educational programs and agriculture exhibitions open to the public at all times of the year. For more information email [email protected]

Francis Field has deep roots in 4-H, and we are proud to continue that tradition of youth development, leadership, and community service.

A huge thank you to 4H4All for spending time at the grounds cleaning up and planting beautiful new landscaping along the main building. Their hard work has made a wonderful difference and helps keep Francis Field looking welcoming for all who visit.

We appreciate your dedication, teamwork, and commitment to giving back to the community. Thank you for helping make Francis Field even more beautiful! 🌱🌼💚

The weather looks beautiful for this coming week! 5/11 to 5/15

The arena will be open from sunrise to sunset. Please note Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday there is ruby practice in the West grass field starting at 5. If you are riding during this time and notice the arena is getting dusty, please stop riding. We don’t want to cover the rugby kids in dust.
There are also dog training classes so please park your trailer closer to the barn or arena.

If you plan to ride this week, please text Brittany 773-552-4691 so I can meet and get a 2026 waiver signed. No one is allowed to ride without signing one first!!

We have a full weekend coming up with team sorting on Saturday 5/16 starting at 11 AM. We will have concessions starting around 10.

Open Show 5/17 starting at 8 AM. We have SO MANY great prizes and a class for just about everyone. Halter classes, young horse classes, tons of different age divisions, Equestrians with Disabilities classes, driving classes, trail, ranch and pleasure classes, speed and in hand classes! We will have Ground for Good coffee truck, Crazy Dad Lemonade and concessions available!
