[2:14 PM CDT Thursday April 20th]

A Tornado Watch has been issued for parts of Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin until 8 PM CDT. In our area all Illinois counties except for Ford and Iroquois are in the watch.

In addition to the potential for a few tornadoes in and near the watch area, severe thunderstorms may produce scattered instances of damaging hail and wind gusts strong enough to blown down tree limbs and fences.

Have multiple ways to receive warnings and be prepared to quickly take shelter if severe weather threatens your area.

A Tornado Watch that includes most of northern Illinois has been issued and is in effect until 8:00 PM CDT. A few tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail will all be possible with today's storms so make sure that you have multiple ways to get warnings and be ready to take action if a warning is issued for your area. Depending on how storms evolve, the watch may be expanded or a new watch may be issued later today for northwest Indiana and/or Cook and Lake counties in Illinois, so stay tuned for updates!

* UNTIL 330 PM CDT.

* AT 303 PM CDT, A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO
WAS LOCATED NORTH OF MINOOKA, MOVING EAST AT 45 MPH.

HAZARD...TORNADO.

SOURCE...RADAR INDICATED ROTATION.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for parts of Illinois and Indiana until 9 PM CDT. Hail up to golf ball size has already been reported with the storms currently moving across northern Illinois, and additional large hail and damaging winds will be possible across the area through the evening hours. Have multiple ways to receive weather warnings, and be ready to take shelter inside of a sturdy structure when thunderstorms approach.

[7:02 PM CDT Tue 8/10]

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 8:30 PM CDT for northern Will, central and southern DuPage, and Cook counties, including Chicago, Joliet, Naperville, and surrounding areas. The main hazard is damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph, capable of bringing down medium to large tree limbs and even uprooting some trees. Aurora Airport in Sugar Grove gusted up to 58 mph with the line of storms. Head indoors immediately until these storms pass.
