Hello, again NL. It's been a while since our last post. Here are a few reports from our recent activity. We hope everyone is doing well as we gear up for another Wildcat school year.

08/20 @ 1203
A Greenwich Twp. resident arrived on station requesting to file a report regarding a scam call he had received. He was referred to HCSO for jurisdiction.

A N. Main St. complainant reported a solicitor in the area that he didn't believe had a permit. The area was checked without anyone being located.

08/19 @ 2123
HCSO requested a New London Officer respond to a Section Line Rd. 21 residence for a grease fire. Upon arrival, the caller stated the fire had been extinguished.

Officers and squad personnel were dispatched to a W. Washburn St. address for report of a women who had been struck by a vehicle. She was checked by EMS and refused transport. The incident occurred in Brighton Twp. LCSO was advised of the matter.

Officers were dispatched to a Shadyside Ave. address for a domestic dispute between siblings. No charges were requested.

Officer initiated a traffic stop along Park Ave. and Third St. for a registration violation. Warning given.

Officer initiated a traffic stop along N. Main and Biglow Pkwy. for a marked lanes violation on a semi-truck. Warning given.

Officer responded to a N. Main St. business for an alarm activation. Contact was made with the key holder and everything checked okay.

Officer responded to an Akron St. business for a verbal dispute amongst two patrons. The issue was resolved without incident.

A Cedar St. complainant reported a motorcyclist operating in a reckless manner. The bike was unable to be located.

Officers were dispatched to a Third St. address for report of a neighbor dispute. A review of surveillance was unable to sustain the complaint.

A N. Maple St. complainant reported someone trespassing on her property. The male in question was later located and advised.

A Westwood Dr. complainant reported her daughter was being harassed by phone.

A Third St. caller requested the assistance of a water worker to shut off the water to her home. Assistance rendered.

08/17 @ 1430
Complainant reported a possible squatter residing in a tent on village property off of W. Fir St. The area was checked and the tent was found to be vacant.

Complainant requested a civil standby at an East St. residence while he served an eviction notice.

Officer reported assisting squad personnel with an ill Aster Ct. resident. Patient was transported.

Complainant arrived on station to report a welfare check on a Pearl St. resident who he stated may be missing. The individual in question was determined to be out of state with a friend.

The cat has been found and is home.

This cat was located at 81 E. Washburn St. it has a collar but does not have any information on it. The cat will be left in the area. This could be someone’s outside cat but the complainant was not sure. Just want to make sure no one is missing a cat. If you have any questions, call the NLPD at 419-706-4650. Complainant arrived on station to report her son had been involved in a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash at the Rec. Park. No injuries or damage were reported.

Officer on patrol observed a large amount of smoke at the west edge of the village limits. It was determined a small enclosed trailer with hay was on fire. Assistance was rendered by New London Fire Department.

Complainant requested a welfare check on a juvenile in a vehicle at a W. Main St. business. Contact was made with the juvenile who stated she was fine.

Officer responded to a fire alarm at a W. Main St. nursing facility. It was determined to be accidental.

Officer took report of a private property hit-skip crash at a Park Ave. business. The suspect vehicle was located along High St. where a traffic stop was initiated. The operator was subsequently arrested for OVI.

Officer responded to the intersection of Townline Rd. 187 and Co. Rd. 16 for report of a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was gone upon the officer's arrival.

Complainant reported witnessing a male subject on a motorcycle shoot at a passing motorist in the area of Townline Rd. 187 and Co. Rd. 16. An Ashland man was identified as the suspect. He was later arrested and transported to the Huron County Jail without incident.

A Third St. complainant reported an open door at a nearby vacant residence. The owner was contacted and everything checked okay.

A Prospect St. complainant reported juveniles looking in windows of a neighbor's home. Contact was made with the children, who stated they were looking for a friend who resides there. They were instructed to leave.

Complainants arrived on station to report while attempting to recover property at a Westwood Dr. residence, they were threatened. No charges were requested.

A village employee reported someone disposing of their personal trash items at the Recreation Park dumpster. The responsible party was warned.

A W. Main St. complainant reported a group of individuals acting suspicious near a U-Haul truck parked at a W. Main St. business. Contact was made and the involved denied the complaint. Everything checked okay.
