The Homeless Hospitality Center provides a place of safety and welcome to all southeastern Connecticut adults who find themselves facing homelessness. We welcome every individual as our guest at both our shelter and Daytime Hospitality Center on State Pier Road in New London. HHC collaborates with dozens of public and private programs and agencies to address, as fully as possible the underlying ca

uses of homelessness for every individual who needs our help. We are also developing innovative new housing options for those who need them most. Our roots can be traced to 2006, when a homeless man named Bill Walsh died in the woods on the New London-Waterford town line one week after the city’s winter shelter closed. Francis House, an intentional Christian community in New London, convened a task force. It led to creation of HHC as a shelter supporting those seeking a way out of homelessness.

We are deeply grateful to the Liberty Bank Foundation for awarding the New London Homeless Hospitality Center a $10,000 grant to support financial counseling and coaching services at its Help Center.

This funding will strengthen the support we provide to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing housing by helping people build financial stability and overcome barriers to remaining housed.

We are grateful for Liberty Bank Foundation's continued investment in our community.

We are honored to have been selected by TJ Maxx to receive a generous $10,000 donation in celebration of their move to a new location in Groton and as part of their commitment to being good neighbors in the communities they serve.

Yesterday, we joined hundreds of nonprofit partners from across Connecticut at the Capitol to rally for increased funding for community nonprofits.

State Representative Anthony Nolan, State Representative Nick Menapace, and State Senator Heather Somers were there to show their support.

David Horst, advocate and NLHHC outreach worker, said that one of the most meaningful things people can do to help end homelessness is to advocate.

Advocacy matters. It helps to educate policymakers, secure critical resources, and push for the systemic changes needed to actually end homelessness.
