The New London Police Department currently has 17 sworn officers. The patrol division works 11 hour shifts, on a 5 day on-5 day off schedule, and provides 24 hour coverage. At any given time there are between 2 and 4 officers patrolling the City of New London. The New London Police Department also currently has 2 full time dispatchers and 2 part time dispatchers. The New London Police Department Patrol Fleet is comprised of 3 marked SUVs, 1 marked squad and 2 un-marked squads.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has informed the City of New London that the intersection of US 45 and County D near New London will be closed for ten days starting
June 11, 2026 at 6:00 am and reopened by June 21, 2026.
The closure is part of the ongoing construction project in the area. The schedule is dependent on weather conditions and construction progress. Currently, US 45 is closed to traffic but the intersection with South County D has been passable. There will be no posted detour with this closure.

UPDATE ON OSHKOSH STREET CLOSURE: POSTED 6/5/26 @ 3:30PM

There has been an update to the previous release of information regarding the Oshkosh Street closure for surface asphalt application:
Oshkosh Street will still be closed to through traffic from Monday 6/8 through Friday 6/12, but the asphalt application will now be occurring on Friday 6/12 instead of 6/11. The hard closure for all vehicle traffic will also be on 6/12 instead of 6/11 as previously stated.
Please do not move barricades to access the roadway. Barricades will be removed when traffic is allowed.

Oshkosh Street will be closed to through traffic from Monday 6/8 through Friday 6/12. On Thursday 6/11 there will be a hard closure for all vehicle traffic for the asphalt application.

Please do not move barricades to access the roadway. Barricades will be removed when traffic is allowed.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has informed the City of New London that the intersection of US 45 and WIS 15 will be closed for five days starting June 1, 2026 at 12:01 am and reopened June 6, 2026.

Currently, US 45 is closed to traffic but the intersection with WIS 15 has been passable. WisDOT states that there will be no posted detour with this closure.
