As the weather changes the risk of West Nile Virus is less - but not gone until after the first hard frost! With all the rain events we have had there is a lot of standing water around and many biting mosquitoes - including some positive West Nile Virus mosquitoes trapped locally on 9/24! There are simple steps we can all take to reduce the mosquito population and the chance of bites! Learn more at

Access to care works better when we bring it closer to where people already live, work, and connect.

TOMORROW, Tuesday, October 6, from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM, The Hartford HealthCare Neighborhood Health Team will be at The Place for Community Wellbeing , 74 Garfield Ave. in New London, for a walk-in mobile health clinic.

Services include urgent care needs, screenings, lab testing, immunizations, and more. Walk-ins are welcome, the clinic is open to all ages, and insurance is accepted but not required.

A community health worker will also be onsite in case you/someone you know needs to be connected to additional services.

We’re grateful for partnerships like this with Hartford HealthCare Neighborhood Health and Ledge Light Health District that help make care more accessible in our community.

We know this is not the post you would like to see but just a reminder that COVID is still with us and right now seems to be going around our community!
While many people will experience a mild case, some people are still ending up very ill and hospitalized...please take care of yourselves and your community by staying home or masking up when you're not feeling well.
When you have COVID rest matters! Contact your healthcare provider about antivirals, especially if you have a chronic disease, and go to the emergency room if you are having trouble breathing, have persistent pain or pressure in your chest, new confusion, are not able to stay awake, or notice your lips, skin or nail beds are pale, blue or gray.
Annual COVID and Flu vaccinations for everyone 6 months and up reduce the risk of serious illness from these viruses. If you have questions, please call us!

Join us for QPR (Question. Persuade. Refer.) Su***de Prevention Training, an evidence-informed program that teaches community members how to recognize the warning signs of a mental health crisis and connect someone with help.
