Congratulations to the West Rusk High School Varsity Band for earning 1st divisions from all judges on their concert & sight reading performances at UIL today! SWEEPSTAKES BAND!!

Congratulations also to the West Rusk High School Non-Varsity Concert Band for an excellent stage performance and earning a 1st division in sight reading yesterday!

BREAKING NEWS!!! WRHS Band's contest recording is advancing to the Area Honor Band Competition after placing 2nd in the region. This is a seperate contest from the OPS contest in which our recording of "Steppes of Russia" placed 1st.

West Rusk High School Band placed 1st out of 9 recordings entered by schools in our region on our UIL performance of "Steppes of Russia" in the Outstanding Performance Series (OPS). Our recording will now advance to the area contest!!

WR HS & JH band parents and students we desperately need workers
for the basketball concession stand. If everyone would volunteer for 1
or 2 games, then we would have every game covered throughout the

The Raider Band will perform @ 4pm on Saturday at the Region 21
Marching Contest in Palestine, TX. The High School band will meet at
the band hall @ 11:00am. The Marching contest performance will be open
to the public, so please encourage friends, family and fans to attend.

The West Rusk High School Twirlers received a 1st division rating on their group routine at UIL Twirling Solo/Ensemble last night. The twirlers are Rebecca Waller, Hannah Waller, Sarah Buckner & Cassidy Hlavaty. Also, Rebecca, Hannah & Sarah received 1st division ratings for solos. All of these girls will be advancing to UIL State Solo/Ensemble Contest in the Spring.

Band boosters also need parents to help out with the meal they are providing the band Friday night. We need volunteers to donate hot dogs, buns, condiments, and use of their crock pots. If you have any questions please contact Leah Hammet. Thank you very much!

The band booster club is going to do a dessert booth for the chili cookoff for the Fall Festival this Friday. The boosters are going to be selling banana pudding and brownies. If there are any parents that would be willing to make one of these two deserts, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!
