Patrick’s Day Parade and Let Loose Thursdays with fireworks, to our Food Stroll, Christmas celebrations and drone shows. Join us on September 6, 2025, at approximately 8:30 PM on the New London Waterfront Park for a breathtaking 300-drone light show over the Thames River, the first of its kind in Eastern Connecticut! Held during the CT Maritime Heritage Festival and part of the America’s Navy 250 Celebration, and the 50th anniversary of the movie Jaws—a cultural icon with deep maritime roots. This patriotic and family-friendly spectacle will be synchronized to music, lighting up the night sky with vibrant, choreographed displays honoring 250 years of the U.S. Watch as drones form iconic naval symbols, American flags, and messages of unity and pride—an unforgettable tribute perfect for all ages.

Meet the author, Bill Morse will lead you on a walking tour about his book Crime and Punishment in Lost New London. Lost New London is a look at the melting pot of people that lived, worked, and sinned on the north side of The Parade, Atlantic Street and lower Bradley(North Bank) Street before redevelopment in the 60s.

Get ready for three days of delicious homemade Greek food and pastries, Greek music and dancing, shopping, fellowship, and plenty of Greek hospitality! 💙🇬🇷

Our volunteers are busy preparing, the excitement is building, and we can’t wait to welcome our community back to Saint Sophia!

Save the Date! 🎃 Our annual Pick and Paint a Pumpkin activity for Free First Saturday is quickly approaching! 🎨

On Saturday, October 3, kids can pick a pumpkin from our museum pumpkin patch to paint a masterpiece on. While pumpkins dry outside, take time to explore the galleries.

It’s the perfect autumn outing for the whole family! Also joining us will be a mobile petting Zoo with Xen’s Critters and dancing with the Wayward Witches!

Please note: Pumpkins are for kids only and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Time: 11 am - 1 pm
Cost: FREE admission all day
