The concert marks CAPT Williamson’s final concert in Leamy Hall before his retirement in July! It will also feature retiring harpist MUC Megan Sesma on the world premiere of Kevin Day’s Harp Concertino, a work that she commissioned for the occasion.

The full Band will also be highlighted on David Maslanka’s tour-de-force Symphony No. 4; vocal soloists MU1 Allison Landstedt and MU1 Samuel West will also be featured.
The concert will be live streamed on YouTube.

On this Memorial Day, we recognize the US Coast Guard’s only Medal of Honor recipient, Signalman First Class Douglas Munro, who died in the line of duty on September 27, 1942 at Guadalcanal. While evacuating 500 Marines from the beach, Signalman First Class Munro shielded the Marines from enemy fire with his own boat, sacrificing his life. The crew carried on and successfully retrieved the Marines off of the beach.

This video features our brass quintet performing the Coast Guard hymn at Munro’s memorial in Cle Elum, Washington.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026 on their graduation today to become Ensigns in the US Coast Guard!

Welcome MU1 Gianluca Farina and happy first rehearsal!
We are so grateful MU1 Farina is jumping into playing so soon (he hasn’t even been issued a uniform yet!) after moving from Charlotte, North Carolina just yesterday. Before enlisting in the Coast Guard, he was a member of the Charlotte Symphony. Welcome aboard, shipmate! 🎺

We are honored to be a part of featured performances at the Texas Bandmasters Association conference this summer!

TBA is delighted to officially announce that the United States Coast Guard Band will be featured in performance this summer!

The United States Coast Guard Band is the premier band representing the United States Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security. The 55-member ensemble has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the nation, including the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall. The Band also has a rich history of performing internationally: it is especially honored to have been the first American military band to perform in the former Soviet Union, with concerts in Leningrad and the surrounding area in 1989. In 2008, the Coast Guard Band became the first premier American military band to perform a concert tour of Japan.

Based at the US Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut, the Coast Guard Band frequently appears in Washington, DC, at presidential and cabinet level functions on formal and informal occasions. Historic events include National Christmas Tree lighting ceremonies, the American Bicentennial Celebration with President Gerald Ford, World War II Fiftieth Anniversary events in England, and Inaugural celebrations for every President since Herbert Hoover.

We are delighted to welcome them back to TBA and we know you won't want to miss their concert at TBA this summer!
