We had 89 submissions for the 6th Annual Brag Tag Art contest this year! It was so hard to narrow it down to work for 20 tags, but we did it! We are featuring 23 artists!

We were able to combine some of the artists work together to make fun unique tags. There may have also been some minor editing and/or color enhancements made to brighten/bolden the tags up or make room for additional art by other artists, and to include their names and grades.

Listed below are all the artists and then attached are the photos of the tags & the original artwork. The tags will have their names and grades on it, original artwork will not. Congratulations to the featured artists you will be able to collect 1 copy of the tag your art is featured on. We will contact you when they are available for pick up.

It's National Library Week!

Millions of people visit their libraries every week—and for good reason. During National Library Week, April 19–25, take time to discover what brings you joy at your library. Visit your library and bring friends and family along; encourage a friend to get a library card and discover the opportunities it unlocks; browse the shelves, join a book club, attend a program or storytime, or get started on your next creative project in a makerspace.

National Library Week is filled with opportunities to celebrate our libraries and take action to keep them strong. Join in on one (or all!) of the various commemoration days:

Monday, 4/20: Right to Read Day - we're calling on library lovers and advocates to celebrate wins against censorship efforts and to take action to defend the freedom to read. On Right to Read Day, ALA will release the State of America's Libraries Report, including the list of the Top 10 Most Challenged Books of 2025.

Tuesday, 4/21: National Library Workers Day - take time to honor and thank the library workers at your library for all they do to impact your community.

Wednesday, 4/22: National Library Outreach Day - a day to celebrate libraries meeting people where they are. Look for your library out in your community - in the bookmobile, at a local pop-up, at schools or assisted living facilities, or wherever!

Thursday, 4/23: Take Action For Libraries Day - this year, we're asking YOU to show up for our libraries and take action against legislative censorship attempts by contacting Congress.

Stay tuned for posts throughout the week and more ways to get involved, and be sure to visit your library and ilovelibraries.org and celebrate your library.

⚠️⚠️⚠️HF 2309 has been scheduled for subcommittee and committee hearings on Thursday, February 12. This bill would be EXTREMELY harmful to libraries, their missions, and the communities they serve.

Submit Public Comments - (before 7:30 a.m. Subcommittee Hearing on 2/12/26): https://www.legis.iowa.gov/committees/meetingPublicComment?meetingID=41998&action=viewCommitteePublicComments

Click the link for our one-click tool to send an email to members of the House Judiciary Committee– (before 10:30 a.m. Committee Hearing on 2/12/26):
https://app.oneclickpolitics.com/campaign-page?cid=8S94WF32NyuVjGs5Gmc2l

HF2309 would create a definition of “harmful to minors” relating to content. It would require that libraries get affirmative written consent from parents for minors to access library materials with varying levels of access. It would create civil and criminal penalties for libraries, library trustees, and library employees personally.

**************************

There are two additional subcommittee hearings on Library-related bills scheduled for Thursday 2/12/26, so be sure to leave a public comment for those as well:
