Safe Futures nominated this incredible event for this year's First 100 Plus Awards. CT Coalition Against Domestic Violence
Our “Threads of Hope” Fashion Show was held in July of 2025 as a way to raise awareness about teen dating violence. This event was organized and designed entirely by the youth in our community to showcase their understanding of how red flags appear in teen dating relationships through a scripted story, music, imagery, and thoughtful choreography. After the show, Safe Futures Director of Education and Community Engagement, Nazmie Ojeda, facilitated an open conversation on the topic of teen dating violence.
Congratulations on this year’s recognition by CCADV to all involved in the “Threads of Hope” Fashion Show, including Nazmie Ojeda and Meghan Foley from Safe Futures and Nicole Broadus from New London Youth Affairs who were instrumental in working with the youth to organize this incredible event.
And special thanks to River Lane Boutique for donating bins of new clothing, shoes, and accessories that were incorporated into the fashion show and shared with the fashion show guests and youth participants.
Congratulations on this year’s recognition by CCADV!
