Granite Valley is a leading supplier of quality northern hardwoods. We are known for delivering custom products that exceed client specifications.

Granite Valley in New London, Wisconsin, is located near the finest North American Hardwood Forests in America. We serve both domestic and international customers, exporting lumber around the world. Our concentration yard, sitting on 60 plus acres, were both founded in 2002. We have 100 full-time employees and our sales team has hundreds of years of combined hardwood and softwood sales experience.

We have worked to assemble the finest group of veteran lumberman since our inception – a team that is committed to their work and our customers.

Congratulations Roger Donaldson, newly promoted Production Manger at Rockbridge Sawmill.

Roger joined Rockbridge in 2021 and immediately brought his old school midwestern work ethic to the Green Chain, where he graded lumber and performed quality control duties. Most recently, he served as the sawmill's Shipping Lead. Roger is uniquely able to bring a customer's perspective to the sawmill's work culture, drawing on eight years of experience working at a hardwood flooring production facility.

When he's not at the mill, you'll find Roger spending his time with his family and grandkids.

Even as timber inventories are dwindled by the Spring Break-up, Granite Valley is able to maintain consistent production and dependable delivery of premium hardwood lumber. This is due to our commitment to log inventories, our expansive kiln capacity, and our massive climate controlled warehouse.

Congratulations to Willie Beckwith on 20 years at the Rockbridge Sawmill!

Willie started by pulling lumber on the green chain, and he has grown into a highly skilled Resaw Operator. He is now able to operate most of the machinery in the mill, and he even steps in to help with maintenance. Away from the mill, Willie enjoys spending time hunting and fishing with his kids.

We have planned ahead and have plenty of inventory to carry through Break-Up Season.

The Spring Thaw "Break-up" is a fact of life in the upper midwest. It's the period of time each spring when the ground thaws, releasing previously frozen moisture, and making the ground soft and muddy. During this period of time, usually lasting 3-5 weeks, it is impossible to get heavy logging equipment into hardwood forests or get logs out. Many counties impose road bans during this time due to the extensive and expensive damage heavy logging trucks can cause when the ground beneath the roads is soft. Because of this, many sawmills and lumber suppliers run short of supply.

At Granite Valley, we manage the season by: 1) stockpiling ahead at our own sawmills, 2) benefitting from our very expansive array of kilns, and 3) maintaining a massive climate controlled warehouse. Because we are uniquely able to plan ahead, our customers can rely on the availability of quality lumber and dependable delivery throughout the Break Up period.

Points of interest coming out of the IHLA show:
1) Granite Valley is well positioned with its hickory inventory as customers ask about locking in orders amidst concerns of short supply.
2) The barrel stave market is very slow, driving up supplies of white oak.
3) In spite of a robust winter log harvest in Wisconsin, there is concern about supplies this summer, so customers are advised to secure inventory in advance.
4) The appetite for American hardwoods continues to expand in Asia, raising questions about longterm lumber supplies.

We are proud to announce Justin Duranceau as the new Production Manager at AAA Hardwood. With 25 years of experience in the lumber industry, Justin brings a wealth of seasoned wisdom and an old school commitment to hands-on hard work.

After joining AAA Hardwoods in 2020, he quickly developed an appreciation for a work culture that allows for growth and emphasizes true bonds and teamwork. As Production Manager, his current focus is on training new sawyers to give the crew more flexibility and finding ways to make the shipping department run more efficiently.

Away from the mill, Justin races to keep up with two teenage daughters and, when time allows, he escapes onto the open road atop his Harley.

To kick off 2026, we’re proud to celebrate 25 years of Ramiro—a true cornerstone of our Green Line team. He started out as an outfeed forklift operator and has grown right along with our operation. Today, you’ll find him in the Volvo, unloading semis and keeping lumber moving onto the input line with the kind of expertise that only comes from years of doing the job with care.

Ramiro shows up, works hard, and quietly keeps things running smoothly. We’re grateful for everything he brings to the team. Here’s to 25 years and counting!
