Training night at New Market VFD 🚒

Our crews spent the evening working on vehicle extrication—practicing stabilization, tool operations, and coordinated teamwork. These drills may look simple, but they build the muscle memory and confidence needed to perform quickly and safely when someone’s life is on the line.

It’s Today! The New Market Parade starts at 2p today. Couple of reminders:
- The gate opens at 12:30 for all participants to line up at the school.
- Road closures start 15 min ahead of time.
- Please don’t park in the post office parking lot
- hot drinks and cookies at the food trucks at the station.

To all parade entry participants:

The annual Christmas Parade is Saturday! We are so close! Thank you all for entering into the parade.
On Wednesday, December 10th at 6:30 pm at New Market School Cafeteria.
Please send a member of your group that will be participating in the Parade to this meeting. At this meeting we will be going over parking areas, parade routes, getting your entry numbers, and answering any questions you may have. If you are bringing canned foods, they can be dropped off at this time as well.
We understand if you or a group member is unable to make this meeting, please let me know so that I can email the powerpoint to you. You will also get your entry number the day of the parade.
The address to New market School is 155 College St. New Market AL 35761. The cafeteria entrance is at the back of the school. There is parking in the back as well as the side of the school.

We want to thank the Madison County Sheriff's Office for the support and help with our 44th annual Christmas Parade. We are grateful for be able to work closely with them. Hope to see everyone out Saturday. We will have coffee truck and cookie truck in the fire dept parking lot.

Parade Start Time: 2:00 PM (road closures begin at 1:55 PM)

The Town of New Market will be hosting its annual Christmas Parade through downtown New Market. For the safety of participants and spectators, several road closures and detours will be in place. Please plan ahead, expect delays, and use caution when traveling in the area.

Wi******er Road (Southbound)
Traffic will be detoured:
Old Mountain Fork Rd ➜ Mountain Fork Rd ➜ Hurricane Rd ➜ Henry Rodgers Rd ➜ Wi******er Rd (Frank Hereford Rd).

Wi******er Road (Northbound)
Traffic will be detoured:
Frank Hereford Rd ➜ Henry Rodgers Rd ➜ Hurricane Rd ➜ Mountain Fork Rd ➜ Old Mountain Fork Rd ➜ Wi******er Rd.

New Market Rd & Hurricane Rd (Southbound)
Traffic will be detoured:
New Market Rd (Beth Rd) ➜ Butler Rd ➜ Oscar Patterson Rd ➜ Wi******er Rd.

New Market Rd & Hurricane Rd (Northbound)
Traffic will be detoured:
