The Town of New Marlborough is proud to announce the installation of a new Shield 12 Radar Speed Sign on Route 57 entering New Marlborough Village, made possible through the generosity of All Traffic Solutions (ATS) and their ATS Gives Back program.

Police Chief Graham Frank applied to the national initiative and was selected to receive one of ATS’s most advanced radar speed display signs—at no cost to the town. The Shield Radar Speed Sign is a rugged, web-enabled, and data-collecting device that displays drivers' speeds in real time, encouraging safer driving and reducing speeding in high-risk areas.

All Traffic Solutions is committed to creating safe streets and neighborhoods nationwide. The ATS Gives Back program was developed to support smaller communities that need effective traffic-calming tools but may lack the funding or eligibility for traditional grant programs.

The program donates one speed display sign each month to a qualifying community in need. It was created after ATS recognized that many small police departments have a real need for traffic safety equipment but often lack the resources to acquire it.

“We’re incredibly thankful to All Traffic Solutions for this opportunity,” said Chief Graham Frank. “This sign will have a real impact on the safety of our residents, particularly along Route 57 where speeding has been a consistent concern.”

The sign’s placement at the entrance to New Marlborough Village is intended to remind drivers to slow down as they approach the community. In addition to visual speed feedback, the sign collects detailed traffic data to support enforcement decisions and long-term planning.

The New Marlborough Police Department and the Town of New Marlborough would like to extend their sincere thanks to All Traffic Solutions for their generous donation and commitment to public safety.

At approximately 2pm yesterday, a residential break-in occurred. We responded after the homeowner called to report he observed the suspect walking out of the residence with several items. The homeowner confronted the suspect who then left the area prior to our arrival. The homeowner provided these images. Please contact New Marlborough Police with any information.

The Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office wants to make the community aware of an ongoing scam that was reported today by our staff through multiple phone calls. An individual is contacting some within the community stating they are calling to inform them that they have missed their scheduled court date and have a warrant for their arrest. The caller is identifying as Sergeant Kyle Richardson of the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office. This individual is looking for money in return to clear the issue and are requesting payment through various online services. They are also telling individuals that they can report to court the following business day. If you receive a call stating such, please hang up and contact your local police department. Please continue to be safe and healthy Berkshire County!
