One more coastal storm to get through Friday Night into Saturday and then it looks like *fingers crossed* our 3 Aprils will come to an end. 80s appear in our forecast by mid week next week!

05/04/2025

It's a cloudy start with some patchy drizzle around. Showers with occasionally moderate to heavy rain will develop across the region for the afternoon. Some rumbles of thunder can't be ruled out. The wet weather continues into tonight. Temps today will vary from 50s north to low 70s south.

05/03/2025

Other than some isolated showers near the Berkshires, partly to mostly sunny conditions exist over SNE this morning. Temps will quickly warm into the 70s and 80s with a somewhat humid feel. Showers and thunderstorms, some of which may be severe, move into western areas this afternoon before weakening as they move across the rest of the area this evening.

Now that the thunderstorms have passed..... Areas of drizzle currently scattered about should diminish. Clouds should be on the decrease this afternoon. It will be warm and humid with highs around 80 in many spots. Other than an isolated storm this afternoon, we should be dry until more storms arrive Saturday - as a cold front slowly moves through before stalling.

Most days of the next several won't be complete washouts, and the sun will even come out from time to time..... however cumulative rainfall totals may end up being in the 2 to 4 inch range by Wednesday due to the periods of rain/thunderstorms/downpours. Also of note - there is a low risk of severe thunderstorms on Saturday.

05/01/2025

Periods of showers and occasional thunderstorms starting late tonight and lasting through the middle of next week. A period of steady rain is possible Sunday into Monday. Temps begin warm with humid conditions Friday and Saturday, before declining towards normal for the rest of the next several days.

This all caused by a developing cutoff low positioned to our southwest, stalling a front to our West with waves of low pressure riding up the front. Eventually the cutoff/trough swings through New England before exiting late next week.

I'm about to be back! That is all for now.

Here's my final call on snowfall for tonight and Tuesday. Remember there will be very stiff winds with this storm, periods of heavy rain for many, and some coastal flooding. It will be a fairly long duration event as well.... between 24 and 28 hours.
