IT WAS A WONDERFUL AFTERNOON FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS AT THE YMCA! What better way to spend an afternoon than listening to the harp, learning colonial dancing, hearing a poem read dramatically, singing some popular American songs, watching some Irish jigs and listening to young people play and sing a variety of instruments.
Thank you to all who attended! And thank you to Assemblywoman Lisa Swain for stopping by and to Mayor Michael Putrino, Councilwoman Randi Duffie, Councilwoman Lisa Sandhusen and Councilman Ira Grotsky for joining us.
Thank you to all the fabulous performers!! hank you to the performers: Barbara Allen, Anastasia Swope, Vivian Davis, the McLoughlin Irish Dancers and O'DiBella Music students. Also thanks to go artists Lauren Bettini Finizia and Herrat Sommerhoff for demonstrating how they create their art. There is so much talent here in New Milford and in neighboring communities!
Thank you to the wonderful members of the Arts Committee whose efforts and hardwork paid off in a superb event: Chair Mel Urena and members Cynthia Forster, Barbara Allen, Stella DeAugusta, Michele Roth and Stephanie Guerra Kauffunger. I am so glad I created this committed; I love working with them as their council liaison!
