4th Marine Aircraft Wing had the pleasure of attending the Marine Aviation Readiness and Operations Summit (MAROS) and Marine Corps Aviation Association (MCAA) Awards this past week in Dallas, Texas. We are so happy that the 20th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps Ruiz could join us and support those recognized that evening.

The event brought together Marine aviation leaders, professionals, and units from across the force to recognize outstanding performance, professional excellence, and continued dedication to mission accomplishment.

4th MAW is beyond proud to recognize the following 2026 Marine Corps Aviation Association Award recipients:

🏆 GySgt Michael F. Vignuli, HMH-772
Willie D. Sproule Award — Aviation Maintenance Marine of the Year

🏆 GySgt Timothy P. Ikeda, MASS-6
Ted Williams Award — Individual Exceptional Achievement in Reserve Aviation

🏆 MATSG-42
Jack Bergman Award — Marine Corps Reserve Unit of the Year

Their accomplishments reflect the professionalism, leadership, and readiness that define Marine Corps aviation and the Marines, Sailors, and units across 4th MAW.

Congratulations to all awardees and nominees recognized during this year’s MCAA Awards.

4th Marine Aircraft Wing recently hosted its Commanders Conference, bringing together leaders from across the Wing for focused discussion, collaboration, and alignment on the way ahead.

BGen Patrick Tiernan, Commanding General, and SgtMaj Joshua Miller, Command Senior Enlisted Leader, provided comments and guidance centered on the Wing’s priorities and continued efforts to support Marines, Sailors, units, and mission readiness.

The conference included dedicated breakout time for CSELs and Senior Enlisted Advisors, commander-focused discussions across groups and squadrons, and opportunities to strengthen communication and coordination throughout the Wing.

Events like this help ensure leaders across 4th MAW remain aligned, connected, and focused on improving the Wing and supporting the force.

After over 33 years of honorable and dedicated service, we recently recognized the retirement of Colonel McLean.

As Chief of Staff, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, Colonel McLean’s leadership, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to Marines and mission left a lasting impact across the Wing and throughout the Marine Corps Reserve. Across the Marine Corps, his professionalism, vision, and dedication set the standard for all who had the privilege to serve alongside him.

The retirement ceremony was officiated by Brigadier General Joseph Katz. Colonel McLean’s speech brought plenty of laughter to the room, reminding everyone not only of his outstanding leadership, but also of the humor and personality that made him so respected and admired throughout his career. We hope he and his family enjoy many more years filled with laughter, happiness, and well-earned time together.

Thank you for your service. Fair winds and following seas. Semper Fidelis.

“May the 4th MAW Be With You” 🌌⚔️

On behalf of BGen Tiernan and SgtMaj Miller, today we took time to build morale, strengthen camaraderie, and enjoy some friendly competition across the unit.

Congratulations to ALD for taking the win and earning a free comp day! Outstanding teamwork, participation, and esprit de corps displayed by everyone involved.

Thank you to the URC team for making this happen, and HQBn for their support!
