A major milestone for Louisiana’s future.

has received the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permit for the Louisiana International Terminal St. Bernard — moving this transformative, generational project forward.

The permit is the culmination of years of engineering review, environmental studies and coordination with local, state and federal partners. LIT will create a new gateway for containerized cargo, expand capacity, strengthen supply chain resilience and create economic opportunities for generations to come.

The project will help position NOLA, Louisiana and the Gulf South as a major player in the global supply chain, connecting Louisiana businesses to markets around the world.

Today, we celebrate a permit. Tomorrow, we build the future.

Together, our team donated a wide variety of school supplies that will help students and families served by the New Orleans Women & Children's Shelter start the school year prepared and ready to learn.

Each year, our employees come together to make a meaningful difference, demonstrating that Port NOLA's impact extends far beyond our docks. We are grateful to everyone who contributed and helped support local children and families as they head back to the classroom.

Join us in congratulating Cpl. Johnny Helire on earning his National Academy of Police Driving (NAPD) Instructor Certification — a significant professional milestone and a testament to his dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence.

The NAPD Instructor Program is both rigorous and demanding, requiring participants to learn, perform, test, and instruct each day while dedicating additional hours to preparation, study, and lesson planning outside of class. Cpl. Chief Rodriguez dedicated his life to protecting his community with honor, courage, and unwavering commitment. His legacy of service will continue to inspire those who wear the badge and those whose lives he touched throughout his distinguished career.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the entire law enforcement community during this difficult time. May they find strength and comfort in the enduring impact of his life and service. 💙🖤

Today, our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of a man who dedicated so many years of his life to protecting the people of Jean Lafitte and Jefferson Parish, JPSO. His commitment to serving others, his courage, and his unwavering sense of duty helped keep our community safe, and his impact will never be forgotten.

To his family, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. We pray that God grants you peace, strength, and comfort in the days ahead, and that you find solace in the countless lives he touched throughout his years of service.

This loss is deeply felt throughout the Jean Lafitte Police Department. We have lost not only our Chief, but also a brother, a friend, and a member of our family. His dedication, kindness, and presence will be missed more than words can express.

Celebrating 250 years of America from the banks of the Mississippi River! ❤️ 🤍 💙

Last week, the General Roy S. Kelley helped mark the City of Gretna's America 250 celebration with a patriotic water display, filling the riverfront sky with red, white, and blue. As residents gathered along the riverfront to commemorate this historic milestone, the vessel provided a memorable tribute to our nation's past, present, and future.
