☀️ SCHOOL MAY BE OUT, BUT SAFETY IS ALWAYS IN SESSION! ☀️

Summer is a time for fun, friends, and making memories. Whether you're heading to the park, spending time with family, or enjoying activities around New Orleans East, remember to make safety a priority.

🛡️ Summer Safety Tips:
✅ Stay aware of your surroundings
✅ Let a parent, guardian, or trusted adult know where you'll be
✅ Keep your phone charged when possible
✅ Travel with friends instead of going alone
✅ Trust your instincts and leave any situation that doesn't feel safe

Parents, summer is also a great time to check in with your children, talk about safety expectations, and encourage open communication.

Have a safe, fun, and memorable summer! The NOPD 7th District is wishing all of our students and families a wonderful break.

🚛 Thirteen 18-Wheelers Ticketed in NEW ORLEANS EAST During Joint Enforcement Effort🚛

Today, through a collaborative effort between the NOPD Seventh District and the City of New Orleans Parking Division, thirteen (13) 18-wheelers/semi-trucks were issued citations for illegally parking in residential neighborhoods throughout New Orleans East.

These enforcement actions were taken in response to ongoing community concerns regarding quality of life, traffic safety, and neighborhood accessibility. Residential streets are not designed for heavy commercial vehicle parking, and these violations can create safety hazards for residents, pedestrians, and motorists.

A special thank you to the City of New Orleans Parking & Towing Division for their partnership, professionalism, and teamwork in addressing these concerns.

This is another example of how community members and city agencies can work together to make New Orleans East a safer and better place to live.

The New Orleans Police Department’s 7th District would like to congratulate Officers Breanne Brooks and Kyle Julien on successfully earning their Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) certifications.

Crisis Intervention Team Officers play a vital role in responding to mental health-related incidents within our community. Through specialized training, CIT Officers develop the communication skills, empathy, and crisis response techniques needed to safely and effectively assist individuals experiencing mental health crises while continuing to serve in their regular patrol duties.

We are proud of Officers Brooks and Julien for their commitment to professional development, community care, and strengthening the relationship between law enforcement and those we serve.

Congratulations on this important accomplishment and thank you for your continued dedication to the community.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. 💚

At the New Orleans Police Department’s 7th District, we recognize that mental health is just as important as physical health. This month serves as a reminder that it is okay to ask for help, check on one another, and have open conversations about mental wellness.

No one should feel like they have to struggle in silence. Resources, support, and hope are available, and sometimes a simple conversation can make a meaningful difference.

You are not alone. Help is here. Hope is real. 💚

Today, the New Orleans Police Department’s 7th District proudly celebrates and honors all mothers — the women whose strength, sacrifice, compassion, and unconditional love help shape our families, our neighborhoods, and our community every single day.

Whether you are a mother, grandmother, godmother, stepmother, mother figure, or someone who simply nurtures and uplifts others with a mother’s love, today is for you. Your guidance, resilience, and care leave a lasting impact that reaches far beyond your own homes and touches the lives of countless people throughout our community.

We also recognize the mothers who serve — those balancing the responsibilities of family while continuing to serve and protect others with dedication and heart.

The 7th District extends our deepest appreciation, respect, and gratitude to every mother today and every day. Thank you for the love you give, the sacrifices you make, and the strength you show even during the most difficult moments.

From all of us at the 7th District — Happy Mother’s Day!

Protect & Connect April Meeting Cancellation & June Meeting Update

The New Orleans Police Department's 7th District would like to inform our residents that the Protect & Connect meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, 2026, has been cancelled.

Due to the overwhelming need for officer coverage during the upcoming French Quarter Festival (April 16–19, 2026), our personnel will be fully committed to ensuring public safety during this large-scale event.

Additionally, with continued staffing demands for both the French Quarter Festival and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival (April 23–26 & April 30–May 3, 2026), there will be no Protect & Connect meeting held in May.

📅 Our next Protect & Connect meeting will take place on the third Wednesday of June 2026.

We truly appreciate your understanding and continued support as we work to keep our city safe during these major events. We look forward to reconnecting with you in June and continuing our partnership with the community.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the 7th District.
