Give real Christmas trees a second life instead of ending up in landfills! 🌿🎄 From Dec 26–Jan 9, New Orleans residents can recycle real Christmas trees to support coastal marsh restoration at Bayou Sauvage. Many thanks to Glass Half Full and Gulf Coast Bank and Trust Company for helping to make this year's program happen!

How to participate:
• Dec. 26–Jan. 4: Call 311 and request the “Christmas Tree” service for curbside pickup (limited to the first 400 trees).
• Jan. 5–Jan. 9: Place your prepared tree at the curb by 5 a.m. on your regular garbage day for collection by a recycling truck following your garbage truck.
• French Quarter & Downtown: Place trees curbside before 4 a.m. on Jan. 8.

Please remove all lights, ornaments, stands, flocking, tinsel, other decorations, and tree bases before recycling.

For more than 27 years, this program has helped restore marshland and create critical habitat for birds, fish, crabs, crawfish and shrimp. Recycled trees also play a role in strengthening our coastal resilience against erosion and sea-level rise.
