I know one thing, to have five judges (including a retired Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Louisiana) speak on the topic of civic engagement and the importance of voting, while wearing their judicial robes, to a gym filled with High School Juniors and Seniors from Edna Karr, McDonogh 35, Eleanor McMain, L.B. Landry, and Morris Jeff, open it up for questions from the audience, and have a line of teenage students form from the stage to the back of the gym to ask questions of the panelists, I can rest assured that there is hope for our future.

I thoroughly enjoyed presenting alongside Retired Chief Justice Bernette Joshua Johnson and three other judicial colleagues: Judges Ranord Darensburg, Rachael Johnson and E. Teena Anderson-Trahan, at the Inspire NOLA Student Civic Leadership Summit, to an outstanding audience of young scholars.

Thank you to the Hon. KaTrina Griffin of the Orleans Parish School Board and other organizers for putting together such an incredible event for our youth!

Nearly 8 years ago, in 2018, the people of my beloved home, New Orleans, first elected me to serve as Judge, Division E, of Orleans Parish Civil District Court, on my promise to serve with integrity and to help ensure that “Justice for All, becomes a Reality for All” who appear before me. I rest assured in my conviction that I’ve consistently delivered on that promise.

This week, I qualified, without opposition, to continue my service as Judge of Orleans Parish Civil District Court, Division E.

Thank you, New Orleans!

Had an awesome visit with some outstanding young people at the NORD Cutoff Summer Camp this week during which I shared with them my legal career journey. Was also happy to provide some Italian Ice treats, to help them beat the summer heat during their last week of camp.
