In keeping with the Mayor’s 2019 commitment to be fair yet aggressive with enforcement, Code Enforcement has surveyed over 2,500 vacant lots across the city of New Orleans. The purpose of the survey was to identify all vacant and overgrown lots in violation of the City’s Minimum Property Maintenance Code found in chapter 26 of the Code of the City of New Orleans. Property owners must abate all violations within 30 days. FAILURE to abate and maintain voluntary compliance, prior to the re-inspection of your property within 30 days, can result in fines and fees in addition to the SALE and SEIZURE of the property, through further legal action.
