Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) is a genetic condition that causes cysts to develop in the kidneys, and can affect kidney function over time. While there is currently no cure, early detection and regular care can make a difference!

Scottie Scheffler celebrated an extraordinary victory yesterday by winning the FedExCup. Here in Louisiana, golfers have another meaningful reason to celebrate: every round played in a National Kidney Foundation of Louisiana tournament helps change lives and bring hope to people affected by kidney disease.

Following his victory, Scheffler said, “I feel like it’s a gift to play out here on the PGA TOUR, and don’t want to take it for granted.”

That same sense of gratitude and purpose makes playing in an NKFL tournament so special.

On Monday, September 14 at Pelican Point Golf and Country Club, every foursome, sponsorship and donation helps provide education, early-detection screenings, transportation assistance and vital support to Louisianians affected by kidney disease.

Today, more than 10,000 people in our state are living on dialysis, and approximately 1,824 are waiting for a life-saving kidney transplant.

You may not be playing for the FedEx Cup, but you are playing for something that cannot be measured by a trophy or a paycheck: more time, greater hope and a healthier future for people throughout Louisiana.
