What a great day serving the community at the Chase Gentilly branch! Thrive New Orleans was proud to partner with Chase and other community organizations for a successful Back to School Community Event.

Together, we helped provide approximately 300 students with backpacks filled with school supplies! Beyond the backpacks, it was a day of connecting with families, sharing resources, and strengthening relationships throughout our community.

When organizations come together with a shared purpose, we create lasting impact. Here's to a successful school year for all of our students!

Thrive was happy to welcome back Homewood Community Church (Alabama) to New Orleans to build community with a cultural exchange bible study. The youth visited the Thrive 9th Youth Summer Camp where kids got a chance to learn one another, grow together, and build lasting relationships!

Every day our campers learn, play, explore, and grow in a safe, supportive environment where they can simply be kids. We're proud to invest in the next generation and can't wait to see all they'll accomplish.

Construction officially started Monday for a new stadium in the Ninth Ward. The Raising Cane’s Ninth Ward Stadium at LCMC Health is a multi-sport venue that will seat nearly 3,700 fans and serve as home field for Carver’s football team, the Rams. It will also host community events, concerts and graduations.

We look at the stadium as a catalyst for economic growth and development in our community,” said Thrive New Orleans Executive Director Chuck Morse, whose office location is near the Carver High School campus.

“The construction, the programming at the stadium, and the business generated by visitors… all can help support businesses and jobs," he said. "But it will also mean more eyes on the opportunity that this community offers.”

George Washington Carver High School and Thrive New Orleans partnered during Love the Boot Week because we believe a stronger community starts with service. Together, 200 volunteers collected 1,825 pounds of litter throughout the Ninth Ward, helping create cleaner, safer spaces for our residents.

Our why is simple: to build community pride, environmental stewardship, and empower young people to take ownership of the neighborhoods they call home.

What started as a training opportunity became a home built with purpose.

After nine months of hands-on learning, students in the New Orleans Career Center (New Orleans Career Center) Building Trades Program presented the keys to a fully code-compliant tiny house they constructed from the ground up. From framing and roofing to electrical and HVAC installation, these young adults gained real-world skills while creating something that will have a lasting impact.

NOCC has donated the 288-square-foot tiny house to Thrive New Orleans, where it will serve as transitional housing for workforce training participants working to rebuild stability and create new opportunities for themselves.

Thank you to NOCC for making this vision a reality.
