Neighborhood Capacity Building Initiative We are a collective of eight community non-profit organizations in collaboration and partnership with NeighborWorks America & the City of New Orleans.

The eight organizations currently involved with this initiative are the Broadmoor Development Corporation, Central City Renaissance Alliance, Freret Neighborhood Center/Neighborhood Housing Services of New Orleans, Mary Queen of Vietnam Comm

unity Development Corporation, Neighborhoods Partnership Network, Providence Community Housing, Puentes New Orleans, and VAYLA New Orleans. Our first initiative is "Creating Communities for Change" - a four-week training academy designed to position local groups for action. Participating groups will also qualify to apply for community building grants of up to $10,000 per group to implement specific projects.

Hi everyone,

We had a great opening/information session today. Just to let you know, registration has closed. We are well over the registration limit of 60 people. However, if anything changes then we will let you know. Stay tune for photos and other information.

Update! Below are the dates and locations for the workshops. Remember, when you register only one or two of your members has to attend one of all three workshops. Please see below:

WORKSHOP ONE
- Saturday, May 17th at the Neighborhoods Partnership Network, located at 3321 Tulane Avenue.
- Wednesday, May 21st at Neighborhood Housing Services of New Orleans, located at 4528 Freret Street (entrance through parking lot).

WORKSHOP TWO
- Saturday, May 24th at VAYLA of New Orleans, located at 13235 Chef Menteur Hwy.
- Wednesday, May 28th at Neighborhood Housing Services of New Orleans, located at 4528 Freret Street (entrance through parking lot).

WORKSHOP THREE
- Saturday, May 31st at the Algiers Public Library, located at 3014 Holiday Drive.
- Wednesday, June 4th at the Central City Renaissance Alliance, located at 1631 Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard, 4th Floor.
