The Press Street Gardens is an urban farm located on New Orleans' historic Press Street, where the Faubourg Marigny meets the Bywater.

Press Street Gardens is an urban farm and outdoor learning lab. We're located on New Orleans' historic Press Street, where the Faubourg Marigny meets the Bywater. Find our local produce and snowballs at two weekly farmers markets: on Mondays 4-7PM at Refresh Market (300 N Broad St.) and on Thursdays from 3-7PM at CCFM at 3700 Orleans Ave (American Can Company parking lot). Want to volunteer with u

s? Our volunteer hours are currently Tuesday mornings from 9am to noon. If you'd like to volunteer then, just drop by--there's always plenty to do. If you'd like to volunteer at a different time, or if you'd like to bring a group to help with a special project, send an email to [email protected].

Our Story

Press Street Gardens is an urban farm and outdoor learning lab funded by The NOCCA Institute, the nonprofit partner of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. We're located on New Orleans' historic Press Street, where the Faubourg Marigny meets the Bywater.

We grow fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs, which are used by NOCCA’s Culinary Arts students in their classroom training. We also help NOCCA faculty incorporate the Gardens into their arts, science, humanities, and health education lessons.

For the public, we offer an exciting urban green space for workshops, meetings, and other activities. Through these events, we hope to educate participants about topics ranging from proper gardening techniques, nutrition, and personal well-being to wetlands restoration and environmental stewardship.
