Good morning,
Ofc. Grant and K9 Blazer have officially graduated the K9 academy!! Blazer is the first K9 officer that the New Paris Police Department has ever had on staff. Ofc. Grant is going to do a great job, and we are excited to have Blazer apart of the team. This is just one more step in making our community a safer place to live, and to visit!

This would not have been possible without the Preble County Prosecutor supplying the funds to purchase Blazer, needed equipment, and the training for both Ofc. Grant and Blazer.

We would like to Thank Riegel Feed & Grain, Inc for supplying the dog food.
As well as, American Legion Clarence Teaford Post 360 for purchasing the fencing for Blazer a place to run while on duty.

We are committed to making the Village of New Paris a safer place for all who live, or are just passing through!

Thank You,
Chief Joel.

UPDATE

Thanks to this awesome community, the suspect has been identified!!

We have tried to make contact with him, but he did not want to answer the door. Charges will be filed in the Eaton Municipal Court.

Thank you for your constant support!!

We are investigating a theft from the Dollar General parking from last evening. An adult male decided that he couldn't resist in taking one of four bicycles from the front of the store. The male took a bike that belonged to a child, instead of purchasing his own.

What this male doesn't understand is, that he is on multiple cameras. We will find you, and we will charge you with theft! If you have any information on who this male is and how to reach him. Please call us at 937-437-2121 or the Preble County Sheriff's Office at 937-456-6262. This is a reminder don't take what isn't yours.

Thank You in advance,
Chief Joel

We have some exciting news!! We will be adding a K9 team member to the department! Ofc. Grant will be the handler, and together they will be starting their training very soon. Our K9 officer will be a German Shorthaired Pointer specialized in narcotic detection and tracking.

At this time our new K9 officer is intended to be a female (pending finalization of her training) and we are asking for the communities help to name her! We have narrowed it down to the 5 names listed below. We ask you to please like the comment with the name you want to cast your vote for!! Voting will remain open until April 8th at which time we will see the winner based on the name that receives the most likes!
