Journee is an outgoing, friendly, and talkative 11-year-old from Tuscarawas County who loves staying active and having fun. She dreams of becoming a gymnast when she grows up and enjoys gymnastics, swimming, singing, arts and crafts, shopping, and all things beauty—including doing her nails and experimenting with makeup. 💅✨

Journee is looking for an active female mentor who can share her enthusiasm for life, encourage her goals, and spend quality time trying new activities together.

Congratulations to Shelby Walton, our 2026 School-Based Big Sister of the Year! 🎉

Throughout all four years of her high school career, Shelby demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to mentoring younger students through Big Brothers Big Sisters. While many students participate for a season, Shelby chose to keep showing up—serving as a mentor to three different Littles and making a meaningful impact on each of their lives.

Whether helping a shy student build confidence, encouraging a child who struggled to stay focused, or simply providing a safe and supportive space to be themselves, Shelby approached every match with patience, kindness, and genuine care. Her dedication extended beyond her own Littles as she consistently stepped up to support the program, assist staff, and serve on the Youth Advisory Council.

Shelby's story is a powerful reminder that mentorship doesn't require grand gestures—it requires consistency, compassion, and a willingness to invest in others. The countless hours she spent supporting younger students have left a lasting impact that will continue long after graduation.

🤖 Meet Zaden – Waiting for a Big!

Zaden is a friendly, talkative, and incredibly bright 10-year-old from Tuscarawas County with big dreams of becoming a robotic engineer. He loves reading and excels at it, and he enjoys building with Legos, playing Minecraft and Pokémon, and learning about dinosaurs and mythical creatures.

Zaden is always eager to learn and explore new interests. He’d love a young male or female mentor who can encourage his curiosity, share adventures, and maybe even help him try baseball, stay active, and discover new hobbies along the way.

🎉💚 Happy 1-Year Match Anniversary to Big Sister Jaedin & Little Brother Ted! 💚🎉

Over the past year, this match has enjoyed plenty of outdoor adventures while building a friendship filled with encouragement, learning, and fun. 🌳☀️

As they look ahead to year two, Jaedin and Ted are excited to spend more time reading together and making trips to the library. 📚 And at the top of Ted's learning goals? Mastering the elusive uppercase cursive "V"—because, in his words, it's really hard! ✍️😊

We're confident that with determination, practice, and a supportive Big Sister by his side, that fancy "V" doesn't stand a chance.
