“We have four reservoirs on the Broad Mountain, and they all need to be protected.”
— Pat Caulfield, Schuylkill County Municipal Authority, 2004
“If all the water was hard-piped through this area, and didn’t flow above ground, we wouldn’t have that potential for contamination.”
— Pat Caulfield, Schuylkill County Municipal Authority, 2004
🚨 “Who knows where the water goes?” — A question that still matters. 🚨
In 2004, the Republican & Herald raised serious concerns about a proposed BRADS LANDFILL near Wolf Creek Reservoir the very source of drinking water for Saint Clair and surrounding communities.
📍 The article highlighted:
-Uncertainty about groundwater flow in the Broad Mountain area
-The proximity of landfill activity to a 388-million-gallon drinking water supply
-Concerns that even engineers could not definitively say where the water goes
And yet—here we are in 2026.
This isn’t about fear, it’s about facts, accountability, and protecting a public resource that cannot be replaced.
Because protecting our water isn’t a slogan.
It’s a responsibility.
