Congrats to Our Newest IL Program Graduates!

Sharing videos and a graduation photo from a recent Brooksville graduation. Two clients shared how much more confident, independent, and better adjusted to their vision loss they feel after completing the Independent Living Skills Program (IL).

Along with the adapted skills they learned, the CCTV desktop magnifier provided through our CCTV Lending Program made a meaningful difference. They also gained practical tips they can use every day, from requesting a chef’s cut at a restaurant to reducing eye strain through improved color contrast.

The Messengers Of Hope Mission Mobile Pantry will be at the New Port Richey Lighthouse / Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services of Florida on Tuesday, October 27, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The address is 9130 Ridge Road.

People who are deaf, hard of hearing, visually impaired, or blind, and in need of food are welcome to stop by. Please remember to bring your own bag. If you do not have one, a plastic bag will be provided.

Your voice helps shape the future of Lighthouse! Join us for a Lighthouse Listening Circle and share your ideas, feedback, and suggestions about how we can continue to educate, empower, and employ people who are visually impaired and blind throughout Pasco, Hernando, and Citrus Counties. These community conversations are open to clients, supporters, community members, and anyone who cares about our mission.

Multiple in-person and virtual sessions are available through December. We encourage our supporters to attend, listen, engage, and help us strengthen the services we provide. RSVP to Becky Bennett at [email protected]. We hope to see you there!

Flyer for Lighthouse Listening Circle: Your Voice. Our Shared Future.

The flyer invites community members to share opinions, ideas, and feedback during interactive community conversations with Lighthouse leadership. Participants can discuss suggestions, the organization's strategic plan, and ways to strengthen its mission to educate, empower, and employ people who are visually impaired and blind in Pasco, Hernando, and Citrus Counties.

The flyer lists five upcoming Listening Circle sessions:

• October 21 at 1:00 p.m. during the New Port Richey Client Support Group at Lighthouse, 9130 Ridge Road, New Port Richey.
• November 6 at 10:00 a.m. during the Hernando & Citrus Support Group at Lighthouse, 6492 California Street, Brooksville, with a phone option available.
• November 16 at 2:00 p.m., virtual.
• November 18 at 5:30 p.m. at Lighthouse, 9130 Ridge Road, New Port Richey.
• December 3 at 12:00 p.m., virtual.

🎃 Spooky Fun and a Golden Anniversary! 💛

Recently, several clients, family members, and staff came together for a fun-filled Halloween celebration complete with a haunted hallway, spooky stories, games, great food, and lots of laughter.

We also celebrated a very special milestone as longtime clients Rodger and Bobby marked their 50th wedding anniversary. Congratulations, Rodger and Bobby, on this incredible achievement!

A huge thank you to Theresa and Dan Santana, Amanda and Barbara Karram, Arona Elk, and Nelson Hernandez for helping make this event so special. From the decorations and activities to the delicious food and fellowship, everyone had an awesome time.

Be sure to check out the photos and video of our haunted hallway. It was a great day and a wonderful reminder of how much friendship means! 👻🎃"✨
