Thank you to everyone who participated and attended the town hall last night that our storm water task force put together to give us another opportunity to meet with the professionals to discuss what was done, is being done, and future plans. We assure you that we are absolutely doing everything we can within our abilities and means to ensure the safety of our community, and minimize the impact of storm water. We are so happy and excited that Mayor Al Morgan is running for re-election! We support Morgan, Geoffroy and Pennisi for New Providence!

There has been no greater honor for this hometown boy than to serve you as Mayor of our great community. We have made great strides and accomplished so many great things together. We are a growing and changing community with a proud tradition of excellence that has been my distinct honor and privilege to serve, uphold, and represent. It is with this love and service in my heart for our wonderful community, for all of you, and with the support of my family, that I ask for your support and your continued confidence in my service to New Providence as I seek re-election as your Mayor.

I love New Providence. I love our people. I love our tight knit, small, hometown community and, I love being a Pioneer. New Providence is a very unique and special place, and I cherish it deeply. I was born and raised here, educated through our outstanding school system here, as have all four of my children, and now my grandchildren. I was married here, started my business here, and raised my family here. I am very well-rooted, whole-heartedly invested, and completely committed to making New Providence the best it can be for our growing community, and for our future generations.

Ensuring safety, building community, preserving our small hometown quality of life, while broadening our business and economic growth, keeping costs down while promoting growth and innovation has always been my top priority and has guided my every step as your Mayor.

We have accomplished so much together. We continue to maintain our AAA bond rating, keep tax rates stabilized, maximize shared services, and keep operating costs low. We built a new state of the art rescue squad building, emergency shelter, and upgraded our emergency communication systems. We secured the latest technology tools to support emergency services, instituted flood control and stream bank erosion projects. We built Centennial Park at no cost to taxpayers, renovated Veterans Park, built Harmony Park, and installed all new playgrounds in all our borough parks, upgraded all our fields, installed new pickle ball courts, and a new cricket pitch. We updated and expanded our DeCorso Community and Senior Center and our Library. We achieved AARP certification and have been recognized by Veteran Organizations. We created and implemented our streetscape project, created a community garden and many new sustainable programs and safety initiatives including solar pedestrian walkway warning lights. We expanded summer programs, events, activities, and recreation to be more inclusive of all ages and abilities. Most recently, we developed and implemented a successful borough wide traffic and safety plan, as well as a twenty year repaying plan, and rebuilt and installed new pedestrian bridges after the Hurricane Ida devastation. And this just names a few of all we have accomplished together!

Great people make a great community, and ours is top shelf. Building community is the cornerstone of my service and my vision for New Providence. My vision is of a safe, thriving, vibrant, welcoming, inclusively diverse, family friendly community, that is affordable, close-knit, interactive, and fully engaged in all that a small hometown community can offer for our children, young families, adults, and for our seniors. To my core, I believe great communities are built and maintained on hometown pride and spirit that fosters volunteerism and generates tremendous community contributions. When we feel connected to something good, we engage in it, invest in it, believe in it, and thrive in it, doing all we can to nurture it, contribute to it, protect it, and encourage its growth. That is what we have built here together in New Providence, and with your support, we can continue to build a vibrant, safe, welcoming, and affordable community together.

I care. I care deeply about you, about your family, about our community, about New Providence, and about our future.

Helping, working, and bringing people together, public safety, and prudent fiscal standards continue to guide my every step as your Mayor. I promise with my whole heart to continue to do all I can to promote an environment of inclusivity, hometown pride and spirit, and work with all of you to forge New Providence ahead in our PIONEER SPIRIT, preserving our small hometown community way of life, and continuing to be New Providence’s biggest cheerleader and community advocate. I will continue to promote everything about and for New Providence, representing you to the very best of my ability in all that I say, and in all that I do. Together, we will continue to do great things!

Thank you for your trust and for allowing me this great honor of serving you as Mayor of our great community. Please feel free to contact me anytime to discuss any issue, share ideas, your thoughts, and your concerns. My door is always open. I am here to serve and with your support can continue to serve as your Mayor. We are Pioneer Strong!

Yours in New Providence,

Mayor Al Morgan

As we kick off this holiday weekend, please pause for a moment to honor and remember our brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country, especially those that gave their lives to protect ours, our freedoms, and our way of life. Their courage, sacrifice, and devotion to freedom will never be forgotten. We proudly remember our hometown heroes — neighbors, friends, and family members who answered the call to serve something greater than themselves. As we gather with loved ones this weekend, may we take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices that allow us to enjoy the freedoms we cherish every day. Let us honor their legacy not only with remembrance, but by continuing to build a strong, caring, and united community. We thank all who serve, and may we forever remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. May God bless our fallen, their families, our veterans, our active military, and may God continue to bless New Providence and the United States of America. Have a great weekend! Pioneer Strong!

Thank you for sharing Mayor Al Morgan. Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms out there!

Happy Mother’s Day!
To all of our mothers and mother figures in our lives, we thank you and honor you today and everyday for all you do, for your love, guidance, care and patience, but especially for all the sleeplessness nights, the endless prayers, all the self sacrifices, and all the time, effort, heart and soul put into everything you do, we see you, we thank you, and we honor you.

For those of us who have been estranged, struggling, lonely, and whose motherhood journey has been difficult or painful, our hearts are with you always, we see you, and embrace you. Please know that you are not alone.

For all of our mothers who have sadly passed, including my own, we remember and thank you for giving us the strength, courage, and fortitude to carry on with you in our hearts. May the painful loss that many of us feel today be comforted in the knowledge that a mother’s love is eternal and with us always.

To my own wife, mother, partner, and best friend, thank you for all you do for our family, taking care of us, our home, and for all you do for our community, we love you and thank you for all you do.

To all our children who have grown up to become nurturing and loving mothers, thank you for all you do for our grandchildren and for our families. It is not easy keeping it all together, working so hard, giving, giving, giving, almost always to your own detriment, we see you, we thank you, and we honor you. Please know how loved and valued you are.

Wishing you all a very Happy Mother’s Day!
-Mayor Al Morgan
