In addition to six calls for service yesterday, we were proud to participate in the New Providence Municipal Alliance Every 15 Minutes Program along with New Providence EMS and New Providence Police and New Providence Office of Emergency Management. The program is provided to the students of New Providence High School, which highlights the dangers of impaired driving and simulates the reality of what can play out in a devastating situation.

We continued the momentum during our weekly training - reviewing and practice auto extrication techniques.

***ROAD CLOSURE AND POWER OUTAGE***

UPDATE #2: JCP&L has completed repairs and power is restored. All roadways have been reopened.

UPDATE: JCP&L is advising that they estimate power to be restored by 1PM.

Union Ave, between Hillary Pl and Pearl St, as well as Kline Blvd is closed to all traffic due to damaged utility pole and power lines. There is currently no estimated time of restoration.

Follow all posted detours and do not drive around road closures.

We will post updates as they are received from JCP&L.

Congratulations once again to FF Daniel Nelson and FF Billy Vignali, who received valor awards from the The 200 Club of Union County at their annual luncheon today.

On July 14th, 2025, the decisive actions of both members directly prevented a loss of life.

They voluntarily entered rising floodwaters under rapid current, accepted significant personal risk, and operated with professionalism, composure, and courage when seconds mattered most. Their teamwork, judgment, and commitment to protecting life embody the highest traditions of the fire service.
