We took delivery of our new BME Fire Trucks Type 3 urban interface engine just in time for our annual business meeting on Sunday. This engine replaces our reserve engine at station two and will be the new engine 3302. This style of engine was chosen over another class A like 3301 for its dual purpose capability. This truck can operate as a frontline engine until 3301 can arrive and also assist with the many grass fires we see. In the event of a state surge request this truck will also double as our deployment truck. Thank you too our fire board and command staff for the great work on this truck. Front Range Fire Apparatus

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BURN TOMORROW 🔥 In any form! Welding, burn barrels, and any form of flame outside please avoid. If winds are as predicted a grass fire or fire of any kind will have to be stopped when it hits the gulf or Mississippi River. Take the day to secure outside items like patio furniture. Plan for possible power outages and try to limit travel, especially high profile vehicles. As always we will stand ready to respond to whatever hazards arise.

Damaging Winds Wednesday! Broken tree limbs, scattered power outages, property damage, very high fire danger, hazardous travel/poor visibility in blowing dust.

Good day to hunker down and avoid any outdoor activity!

Strong and damaging winds are expected Wednesday as a strong storm system races east across Colorado. Blowing dust will be possible and could reduce visibility to near zero at times. In the mountains, blowing snow may reduce visibility and make travel difficult Wednesday morning. Dangerous fire weather conditions will also be possible, so avoid any burning or anything that could produce a spark.

We are now under a RED FLAG WARNING for critical fire danger tomorrow. Please if you can avoid it do not burn tomorrow. We have seen very rapid fire growth and development from the last couple big fires we have been on, and those were not even red flag days. Conditions such as those predicted will be conducive to rapid spread of new fires.

⚠ Critical fire danger is expected Tuesday due to very low humidity and gusty winds. Avoid any outdoor activities that could cause sparks or flames!

11/22/2021

With the combination of strong low level westerly winds and low relative humidity values, a Fire Weather Watch is in effect for parts of the urban corridor, Palmer Divide, foothills, and South Park starting 11 AM Tuesday morning to 5 PM Tuesday evening.
