Fantastic event!

Thank you to everyone who made the Waseca County Bike Rodeo a massive success!! 🚴‍♂️☀️

We had an incredible turnout with 75 kids participating! Because of our amazing community sponsors, we were able to donate 20 helmets to keep young riders safe, and 4 lucky kids walked away with brand-new bikes! 🚲🎉

A huge shout-out to all those who helped make this event possible—we absolutely couldn’t have done it without your support! 🤝

As a reminder, there will be two siren activations happening today!

This week, April 13 -17, 2026, is Severe Weather Awareness week, a week which is designed to refresh, remind and educate ourselves about the seasonal threats from severe weather and how to be prepared for them.

Today is Tornado Drill Day. Outdoor sirens will sound at 1:45 pm and 6:45 pm providing an opportunity for businesses and homes a chance to practice/update their plans and review or build their kits.

🌪️ The Waseca County Siren Policy:
When the National Weather Service issues a Tornado Warning for Waseca County, ALL sirens in the county are activated. Even if the threat isn't directly in your town yet, it may be impacting your friends or neighbors and could be moving your way.
✅ If you hear the sirens:
Don't wait! Seek shelter immediately.
Get Info: Refer to local broadcast media, NOAA Weather Radio, or a trusted weather app for specific tracking information.
⚠️ Key Safety Tips:
Multiple Ways to Alert: Outdoor sirens are designed to alert people who are OUTDOORS. Do not rely on them as your only warning source, especially while sleeping or inside a building.
Timing: The highest threat for our area is between 4:00 PM and 11:00 PM tonight.
Power Up: Keep your phones and backup batteries charged! 📱⛈️
🗓️ Severe Weather Awareness Week:
This is the perfect time to review your family’s emergency plans. Know exactly where your "safe room" is at home and at work—ideally an interior room on the lowest level, away from windows.
Stay weather-aware and stay safe, Waseca County! 🛡️
