✨ Wills Playground Update ✨

Today we had the honor of joining the De Young family on site for the unveiling of the new sign at Wills Playground! 💙

The De Youngs worked tirelessly to bring this space to life, and the new sign proudly lists many of the individuals and organizations who helped make it possible. Of course, the full list of hearts behind this project goes far beyond what’s written — and we’re so grateful to all who played a part.

Thank you for helping create a place where kids of all abilities can laugh, play, and make memories for years to come. 💛

We are so excited!!

Exciting news! The playground equipment to the east of the restroom building at Mary Park is getting removed to prepare the site for Will’s Playground! Installation of the new playground will take place in June. Thank you for your cooperation as this area will be fenced off for the coming weeks. All other park amenities are still available during this time.

About Will’s Playground

Will’s Playground project committee is working to build the very first inclusive playground in New Richmond, WI that will allow children of all abilities to play together, thus improving the play experience for everyone. By providing this playground, all children will have the opportunity to play and grow without limitations! Our mission is to provide a fun, safe, accessible, and inclusive outdoor space. Will’s Playground project consists of 13 project team members with Teresa DeYoung leading the group. Teresa personally experiences the difficulties posed by current New Richmond’s parks, which are not equipped or designed to safely accommodate her son Will, (who has Down syndrome) along with her other two children. Currently, the only inclusive parks in the area are located in Stillwater, River Falls, Woodbury, and Osceola; this creates travel issues for families from New Richmond and forces them to other communities in order to simply visit a park that their whole family can safely enjoy.
