A heartfelt thank you to Lupine Gardens for designing, preparing, and planting our beautiful new butterfly garden! 🦋🌼

We are excited to watch it grow into a peaceful place where everyone can come to sit, reflect, relax, and enjoy the beauty of nature and the butterflies that will soon call it home.

We’re also excited to share that a bench made from the plastic bags our congregation has been collecting and recycling will soon be added to the garden. What a wonderful way to turn something simple into something beautiful! The bench will be placed in the garden, creating the perfect spot to pause, enjoy the flowers, and appreciate God’s creation.

Over the next several weeks, the garden will need regular watering to help the plants establish strong roots and thrive for years to come. If you would like to help care for our new butterfly garden by volunteering to water it, please reach out to Bruce Peper or any council member. Even a small amount of your time will make a big difference!

Thank you to everyone who has helped make this project possible. We can’t wait to watch this garden bloom into a beautiful place of peace, reflection, and community for all to enjoy. 💚🦋

Poison ivy is native to North America. While it can be a problematic plant if contact occurs and urushiol gets on the skin, everybody reacts differently. Sunlight can dramatically increase the effects. It is commonly found in woodlands, ditches and shoreline areas. It can tolerate full sun and dense shade.

It is a beneficial food source for birds, chipmunks and squirrels.

Always be cautious when walking trails and knowing what to look for. Dabbing your skin with an alcohol coated paper towel helps remove the oil vs. using water and spreading the oils.
