New River Monument

New River Monument We want to create a Monument in New River to honor the early settlers in this area. We have selected Fate & Della Essary, as symbols of these settlers.

The New River Monument is dedicated to and honoring early settlers of the New River Area. The Monument was dedicated on October 7, 2017 and is located on the grounds of New River Elementary School. The Monument was built by hand, out of Steel, by Andy Walker, the husband of DAR member Megan Walker . The Monument is filled with rocks from the New River area, many from the school grounds itself.

The Monument is located close to the parking lot, behind the original Teacherage building which was used by the early teachers of New River School and now still used for special events for the School.

NEw River Historical Monument will be dedicated October 7th at New River Elementary School.

Wine tasting, silent auction and rafel, lots of excitement happening Feb. 11th, 3:00 to 6:00. Tickets $20.00 donation (50l(3)c). Funds will be used to purchase the plaque for the New River Historical Monument to be placed at New River Elementary School.
