Projected facade remodel to 1939 section of former Morgan's Department Store.

Second photo is by Jo An Busse is of late E.L. 'Boots" Morgan, most familiar member of the family to work at the store.

Third photo is 1984 view of interior from former beauty parlor staircase in rear.

The business was founded in 1900 as The Famous store by Morgan's father, Ernest "Sing" Morgan, who was joined by brother I.G. "Pumsey" Morgan (himself a retail pioneer since 1897) as E. Morgan & Bro. in 1910. Their descendants continued to own the familiar retail institution until its closing in 1994, long after the demise of most family-owned department stores in the nation.
