A look back at one of New Roads’ familiar landmarks 🥖

Of the many bakeries that once served our community, several operating at the same time in the mid-1900s, one of the most well-known stood at the corner of W. Main St. and West End Dr.

Originally opened as People’s Bakery by the Didier family and later operated as West End Bakery by the Fabre family, this photo captures the bakery in 1951.

Entergy has advised the parish of a planned outage Sunday, August 23rd starting at 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Monday, August 24th for maintenance and system improvements. The parish wanted to give the affected areas as much notice as possible. These are the areas/streets as given to us by Entergy. Please direct any questions to Entergy customer service at 1-800-368-3749. Again this is a planned outage by Entergy not Pointe Coupee Parish Government.
